My 4 yr old son was just constantly on me this week so this am we went out after sunrise. 1st setup we didn't hear or see anything. Moved to a different field and right as I hit the call we got some gobbles. He heard that and went from excited to wanting to go home. The more I said keep waiting the louder his whining got. So I decided to call it quits before they came out to see my set-up. He just isn't quite ready to be a hunter. I had to give it a shot though. Hope I get to get back out in the morning.

Went out again this morning and had alot of gobbling behind me. They were all answering my call but they just would not come over from the neighboring property. Guess thats all part of it

Well good luck Mottz, you'll get em!!
First time I took my doughtier she was 11 and just went for the camping.
She didn't want to get up early so we hunted the late afternoon, we heard a gobble just before we set up. 10 min. later she says hes' not coming..... he was strutting and gobbling to my calls so I tell her give me a few min. About 15 min. he's not coming! Can we go? So I know by now he's not coming and I have to close ground on him, so I do and 5. min. later BOOM I had to gobblers comming in and I shot mine. So I say I got him all excited like and she...... says I know!
So Now she is 17 and she wants to go and shoot her own..... We will see.
I am excited to take her.

Been hearing some gobbling out near my mom's house on the neighbors land. Too bad there isn't any property I have permission to hunt out that way..... Oh well... won't be long and I'll be on out at my deer/turkey spot. Been practicing my calls....

Wasn't me, but we did make some serious noise at the house.
Birds have been doingtheir thing around the house lately. We have seen up to 6 different birds on farms I hunt. My best spot I have not even set foot on yet. I am going out in the morning to listen and see what the birds are doing. Hopefully the cold weather won't have them tight lipped.
