First day out today. I've been listening to birds gobble like crazy for the past three days but only heard one bird this morning. We heard him fly down and that was all. Not another gobble all morning besides one random one from the next property over. We repositioned the blind and I hope he spends the night where he did last night, because we will be where he is headed (in theory, right?)

I shot another bird. It was not a big bird and my other bird scored better. The bird scored 26.6.
It was the last day of my quota hunt so I decided to take the 1st legal bird.
Another tough season, I was fortunate to get 2 birds.

Any legal bird is a good bird. Congratulations for filling two tags. I'm having trouble just filling one!

Three days out, three strike-outs. The birds aren't gobbling, aren't showing themselves in the fields, nothing. I've never had such a bad 3-day hunt. I never saw the first gobbler. The only turkey I saw was a hen but I was driving to the woods! I have a bad feeling that two flooded springs in a row played heck on the population. I get to hunt again two weeks from now. Hopefully it's better.

Well guys, I had a chance this morning, but didnt pull it off.

Had a tom gobbling and responding to my calls, and as I kept calling (somewhat), I was waiting for him to respond and 5 minutes passed and nothing. Well APPARENTLY he was gonna come in quietly. I had my gun on my lap and he walked in OUT OF NO WHERE at 25 yards. I turned my red dot on and clicked the safety, but had no chance of pulling my gun up before he walked off and hung up out in the field.

Im not too happy right now.
