Went out today for my Special Opportunity hunt. Had one gobbling in the morning but the hens must have taken him away.
About 10:00 am I had 3 hens come out and beat up on Delilah, my DSD hen decoy. After playing with them for about 10 minutes had a Tom come to check things out, he gobbled about for times, but never came in close enough. Then the hens left.
I will be back out there in the morning. I moved my set up to where I think they will be traveling by, So we shall see in the morning.

I'll be back at it this wk. end. I've got clients coming in for the first three days of the season so they will get the primo spots but I just picked up a new 250 acre farm that is mainly CRP with about 100 acres of hardwoods. I really don't have a clue whether it holds birds or not but maybe I can slip over there to check it out this wk.end. This group is all semi guided so they're on their own after I set them up. We have a ton of birds on most of my farms so I'm pretty confident I'll post up a few birds in the next two wks. Good luck to you guys that are out there chasing em.

Well there was a lot of hard hunting. First day when I got to the property just went out for a walk and found a tom and 4 jakes in my field. So I tried a belly crawl up to them. Got to about 60 yards but they were feeding away so I let them go. Next morning had a tom hang up about 150 yards out in full strut. Never came close enough. My bro missed Friday morning on a pair of birds that came in. They were on the move, but a miss is a miss. Dad missed later that morning on a tom in the oak flat at 25 yards.

As for me, I was working the food plots over earlier in the week thought it would be a good place to sit with that fresh till. Also was the area that all the toms seemed to be coming from and going to in the afternoon. So I sat along the 1/4 acre till and a nice tom came out. He did not last long in front of me. Took my shot at 30 yards.

23.5lbs
9.5 in beard
3/4 in spurs

Pics attached. I can get the one with me behind the bird if we need it. It is just on a different camera. These are with my cell phone!

Also not sure where to post for the score or how to score it properly. Any help would be great!!!!
Thanks team

I just tried out the calculator and here is what I came up with for a score.

Your score is 23.5 + 7.5 + 7.5 + 19 = 57.5
