Ok it starts in the morning, don't guess I'll sleep tonight! Not sure how it's going to go lots of water on my place, I'll be in chest waders getting to my spots again. It's supposed to get 84deg here tomorrow! It went from winter (if you can call it that) to summer in about 2 days!! Usually still good frosts early in the season.

Default excitement

Opening day eve is way more exciting than Christmas ever was. With the dogwoods already blooming and the forecast saying low to mid 80s, I'm expecting a good opening day and weekend. Not sure which tract I'll go to first tomorrow, but I may try to get the other bird that gobbled last Saturday when my wife's cousin scored that big one. Good luck tomorrow Ethan, hopefully we'll both have a big day!

I hear ya Ethan! Did he gobble much? I went to three different tracts of land today and didn't hear a sound. Checked the fields and didn't see anything. I'll try again tomorrow, maybe they'll talk to me a little. Congratulations bud! Get those pictures up man I'm ready to see him!

SS, I heard 2 at daylight, way off my place. One hit a couple times, the other was hammerin! It was pretty wet, and the sipsy river is my property line on the east. That's not a place I ever hunt because of water, but went there this morning anyway. By then all the gobbling had stopped anyway. I just called and sat down trying to figure out where to go. 15 min and a few texts later I hear a bird across the river! I thought he was to far but started to the riverbank anyway ( about 150yds). He was gobbling on his own and apparently going to the river too. When I reached the edge he sounded about 200yds. I backed up so he couldn't see the "hen" from his side, and cut....he gobbled and I shut up. He went 10 min without a sound till a crow cawwed and he triple gobbled CLOSE to the bank. I yelped soft and put my call in my vest, didn't want to hang him up. He was silent again but I knew he was interested. It wasn't long before I heard him pitch up and I could see him cross the river, landed 45 yds to me! He came on in on a string and I smoked him at 25yds!!!
