Good bird SS.....where you hunting? Gobblin good yet?

One more scouting update......walked some more new Bankhead land and found one set of tom tracks. Forest service has recently done a couple control burns and the birds love that stuff.

This is my first year to ever have to scout. Every other year I just knew where to go. This year will be my first on this land and I want to make it count.

DTC Jr didn't want to post on here so I told him I would. We had a great trip in FL. Weather was a little tough and the birds weren't gobbling much. I managed to call him in a bird yesterday morning and he MISSED!! He was devastated but I told him if you are gonna hunt them, you're gonna miss them. I am taking him to TX March 24th. Hopefully I can get him back on track.

baldeagle, I'll be hunting in east alabama as well as troup and harris county georgia this year. They didn't gobble all that great for us Saturday here in Alabama. The bird I called in only gobbled 5 times from 6:15 to 7:45. We heard one more way off in the distance early that morning.

DTC, tell jr. I missed one last year and didn't kill a single bird all season. It happens to all of us at one point or another. I've probably missed over a handful of turkeys, and been busted quite a few times as well, especially when I first started out. Tell him to keep that head up and keep on huntin!

Two days.......two LONG days!!!!!! Man, it's killin me! Gotta get in the woods and away from work. Haven't been to my place yet, just going to start fresh opening morning. I've been to some other spots I can hunt and heard birds, but in those ill probably be doing the calling for some friends just getting in to turkey hunting. But don't worry I'll get some for the bandits before its all said and done! Hope we all fold some up soon, I know everybody's ready!
