Thank you Talondale for helping me post the pic and Happy Birthday!!!

Superstrutter... yes I am hooked. The picasa link a bit further up in one of my posts has more pictures. The spurs are very big and very sharp. I am glad I waited for him to quit moving before I picked him up. I am having this bird mounted. He is beautiful.

Well, not a stellar opening day. The birds were roosted on the property next door. After flydown, they got quiet and took off the other way, but after about 45 minutes or so I had one come back. We had quite the conversation, CLOSE. I couldn't see him or pull him onto the property I was hunting though. I did have 4 deer walk up to about 20 yards, they kept me entertained for 20 minutes or so. On the way home, swung by another property and checked in with the landowner. This property is about 200 acres. I'm planning to hit that spot tomorrow morning.

10 1/2 inch beard

lft spur 3/4"

Didn't have much time before work so took the old faithful over and under out and smoked one. Now its time to get the mathews out and stick one. Keep it up team!!! Good Luck!!!

Guys, we are actually in 2nd place in both categories right now. JW neglected to add pinsapex's bird, but I quess he is forgiven. Our best bird score is 314.4375 (2nd place) and our total kill score is 599.35 (2nd place). We are looking good now.

Congrats Pinsapex7!

Had a good day yesterday. Beautiful cool morning and gobblers were gobbling their heads off everywhere. Had one strutting on an adjacent finger to where I was, probably 200 yards away. He would move back and forth, sounding close one time and far the next. Just couldn't get him to cross. Was considering moving around to the base of his finger and calling him uphill when two hunters went by on the uphill side calling and walking. They flushed the turkey and he ran by me on the downhill side but too fast for me to get a positive beard ID and shoot. Couldn't call him back. Still, a nice outing. Thunder and rain this morning.
