Hunting starts this Sat (9/15) in CT... can't wait.
did they ever decide if they were giving points for does?

I agree, we need to pick a team captain and a name.

The Doe counting for points, I do not believe they resolved that yet.

Well guys here is the results/sightings of this weekends hunts.
Friday A.M: Saw 2 doe with 3 fawn.............all stayed just out of range.

Friday P.M: Saw 3 doe and 2 fawn..............all but one doe within range. Did not take either of the mature doe "had little ones with them".

Saturday A.M Saw 1 doe and 2 fawn. One 6 point buck who may have went 50 class if he was lucky. One spike buck and an 8 point I've never seen before "Basket 8" maybe 100-105 class deer. The doe and fawn, spike and 8 point in range. The two bucks are not what I was looking for and the mature doe "had little ones".

Did not hunt Saturday P.M..................went to my sons football game.

Felt great to be in the woods with just my thoughts and not a care in the world.

Dave

I vote Souther MD Archer as captain.
sounds like you are seeing some deer...
The only place where I hunt mature deer is my spot in Western NY... locally, any legal buck usually gets it..
I will also be in KY this year.. but it is on a rifle hunt with Father in law and his brother in law

"I vote Souther MD Archer as captain." I'll second that if Dave is interested.

Begin preparations this Saturday for this fall's hunt with the boy scout group I take bow hunting every fall. We begin shooting in ernst in mid September for our Halloween 4 day hunt. Looking forward to sharing my property with the high schoolers.

Not seeing the shooters on my cameras like in years past but maybe that's a good sign as I haven't drawn on a shooter the past three years. Maybe I'll have better luck this year without the camera excitement.

Default Best bow buck I have ever taken

Team 1 check in-get-attachment.jpg

I killed this deer on September 3rd. This is not the best pic. I have a better one but for some reason it will not upload. We scored him at 143 and 1/8. My taxidermist said it would be at least a month before he can start on him due to having to perserve the velvet.
