BTW...A big kudos to Jason for keeping the participation up on this thread! If you add up the scores of our bucks and divide by the number of team members we only average 53.2" of horns per member. This shows the importance of participation. I like how you layed out the first page with our scored entries as well. Nice to have an attentive Team Captain!!!
You hit the nail right on the head imo!!! Jason has done a great job as team captain and i would like to keep this team for next season so lets continue to "Whack em and stack em" lol. That slogan works for deer too right lmao. Too much duck dynasty in my free time i guess.
Thanks for the kind words gentlemen. Now, unless you want me & my 2013 team kicking your asses next year, ya better get out there & kill some more deer.

Well guys, I had opportunity this weekend on a buck but I just wasn't going to shoot him. He was a very busted up buck. His right beam was broken off just past the G1.
I want to see him next year. He was a 3 year old.
Our 2nd archery season comes back in on the 26th for 2 1/2 weeks. I will take a doe then and I'm still holding out for a buck.
I feel bad. I have been entering bucks in the contest four straight years in a row and we lost our lease this year and everything changed. I'm not giving up though.

Luckily I worked it out & Ill be hunting Thursday thru Monday. Now that the herd is back to some regularity again I want to be afield as much as possible. Ill be posted up on food during my evening hunts & between the ag fields & the bedding during my morning hunts. The extended forecast for central Illinois is predicting some bitterly cold temps this weekend so Im pretty confident that I can arrow a good buck.
Good luck yall & happy hunting.

Something has got to show sooner or later scott, just keep at em. I have had years when it seems like there isnt a shooter buck in the woods, but there is always one that seems to show up, sometimes my part doesnt always work out but then again sometimes it does.

yeah not sure if the nex 2 days are gonna be worth a crap a far as hunting goes. Epic blizzard tonight through friday morning. Talking 14-20 inches of snow and 45 mph winds! Yikes!!! Stocked up with food and drinks and gonna ride her out. Thinking that the picked corn and bean fields will be a major draw once the storm blows through. At least it wont be bitter cold but that will definitely be a LOT of snow..... Any ideas? Im guessing the food source will be the place to be to power down a doe....

Thats where i would be heading after the storm, but when the snow is too deep the deer around here seem to stay in the little bit of timber we have and eat the moss and foliage off the trees. Either way, i feel sorry for the poor sob that has to drag a deer through that much snow lol. Note to self- bring a sled!!!

I'm fixin to head back out and try my luck this weekend before the storm hits. I can't help the team now but I'll post some pics if I get luck. Good luck to everyone still out. Have a merry Christmas.
