Congrats Ryan! Cody, it happens to all of us, you'll get another shot at him, just keep hunting hard and smart!

Made it out a couple times this weekend. Nothing. Really diappointing. I'll be heading down to Central Illinois for two solid days of hunting. Couple giants starting to show up. Friday night looks really good, but Saturday looks like rain and mid 60's. Gross. I think first mature deer in range Friday night might be getting an arrow. I need to get one down with the new Mathews and start to get some meat in the freezer!

Nice job Ryan!!!
I saw the buck I’m going after at our northern property over the weekend. He never came in close enough. I'll be taking some time off and hitting it hard at the end of October. Good luck guys!!

Congrats Ryan, I put one down Monday as well. Thought she was going to bust me as she came right at my stand and was less than 5 yds away on my trail before she made a right turn and gave me a shot. She ended up crashing about 10yds from one of my trailcams at the foot of the hill. I'll have to pull the pic from the card and post!

Trail cam caught me dragging her out. She dropped just a couple yards off this path.

I was out all weekend with nothing to show. The weather was less than perfect though. Windy and warm. Friday Night I kicked up a bunch of Does walking in but saw nothing in the stand. Saturday and Sunday morning were windy, rainy and warm. Kicked up a doe and a little buck walking in but nothing in the stand. Saturday night after a brutal walk in because of the warmth and humidity I was able to check my trail cam that was out for the last 6 weeks. Had three new bucks, two 140ish and one 160ish. All were very nice. About an hour before dark I had a very nice 7 point show up downwind but never busted me. He came into 30 yards but never gave a shot. Oh well. Next trip down is November 2 to 10th, should be rocking and rolling by then!

It's been slow around here lately as well. Over the 3 days of hunting I did last week I saw the doe I shot (and one with her), 2 turkeys and 2 yotes.

Looking forward to Halloween thru that weekend as it's always been that magic time in the past.
