Things looking great for team! Congrats all! Rocky, sorry about your injury...hope you have a speedy recovery.
I'm still at the farm, seeing lots of doe and many small bucks. Not much rut sign, few scrapes, but no chasing. Don't know if colder weather will trigger it, has been mid 70s past couple days and forcasted to high of 40s-50s rest of the week. Trying a new stand placement tomorrow....area looks extremely promising. Good luck all

Great job everybody with putting down some deer! Also sorry about the injury too, that must kill not to be able to get out and hunt. Anyways this past weekend I made it back down to maryland for my second hunt of the season, never saw a thing saturday night but sunday night I managed to tag 2 does and a average 8 point (probably around 100 inches) in 49 minutes. By no means is he the big one I missed earlier this season but I couldn't pass this guy up with a second buck tag and then having my 2 does needed to shoot a second buck. I can't upload pics to photobucket for some reason so if someone would like to enter my picture for the contest I can email it to you. Good luck to all who haven't tagged anything yet.

I submitted my buck. Not quite 125 but it will do. I will try to get out and get us a doe as well.

Well bowhunting is on hold for the next week or so. I leave tomorrow for the IL shotgun season and then I am heading down to Indiana to try and take a couple does during their firearm season.
This will be the second year I get to use my savage 220 bolt action. I hit the range a few weeks ago and was grouping pretty solid at 160yards. I was pretty good from 200 yards but i just don't know if I trust that far of a shot yet with a shotgun. It is amazing what they can do with a 20 gauge shotgun these days.
Good luck to any of you guys that will still be bowhunting. Keep up the great work and remember everybody needs to knock a doe down!!!!!

henson i will be in IL next week filming. and really to call them shotguns is wrong. i call them rifles because that is exactly what it is. you have a 20 gauge rifle. while not the saveage i have used the H&R ultra slug hunter in 12 and 20 gauge and both have enough to take a deer at 200. killed a doe at 190 with a 20 gauge and a doe at 227 with a 12. so if you are grouping good at 200 do not be affraid to hammer one.

Snapper back down at the same place filming? Yeah they are rifles! it was hard for me to lay the trusty 870 down but my groomsmen got me this as a wedding gift last year when I got married and I won't ever go back! it is a sweet shooting gun!
It should be a good time this weekend the weather is gonna be perfect. But its alot different then bowhunting down there. I don't look to have much success. This trip is more about family and the fun we have in deer camp. If I get a deer thats just a bonus!!! Shotgun hunting has really taken a back seat to bow hunting and thats just fine by me.

yes sir same place.
well guys found the big 9 this evening. thought he was a dead buck walking but nope it wasnt to be. had him at 120 yards. i wasnt even hunting just scouting but when i seen him i jumped on the situation and tried to make it happen. he is locked down with a doe chasing her a little and running 2 small bucks off. she is not in yet. they are in a 30-40 acre wood lot that is super thick. actually it is one of the thickets i have spoken about. when i said my blind was on the fence line connecting 2 thicket bedding areas (which is where all the pics of him have been taken). so anyway they went back into the thicket at dark and i grabbed a blind and tucked it in. probably an all day sit tomorrow.
oh what i would have given for it to be gun season with a 12 gauge rifle in my hands!
