Congrats on the kill bluetick. You can always shoot a doe and add 25 points to your bucks score

Blue tick, I saw that the whole deer wasn't in the picture... Sorry about that...

Btw, I think u should be proud of any deer u shoot, bow or not. If u feel the need to apologize for it, then don't shoot it. Your story gave me mixed signals about how u really feel. On the one hand u seemed proud because it was a killable deer, and with your limited experience that made u proud in part because the area hunters shoot anything. On the other hand, u said u thought it was bigger but couldn't see the whole deer and felt disappointed by the size. I might question your judgement in shooting an animal that you hadn't seen well enough to discern between a buck with large g2's and a spike, but if u had committed to shooting a legal buck then I am ok. I just couldn't read where you were well enough in your post.

Basically, I feel that hunting is about you and the animal. You should never kill an animal that doesn't make you proud to harvest. What other hunters do is up to them. Be a proud and ethical hunter.

Glad u got him! Now, just make sure u get the whole doe in your next pic!

Congrats Blue. There are hunters that never get anything all year. A deer is a deer, it's meat on the table, that's all. Be proud of what you got and eat well my friend!!!

I don't believe so because it has to be your first buck harvested.
