Indeed this is the best team! and i've also been shootin some doves and i finally tracked down a waterfowl stamp (early goose and the local post offices were already out of them!?) so before our season opens here, and a little bit during the bow season i'll probably be updating you guys with my ducks :)

Rocky, I'm not so sure about the class thing...LOL...I was very blessed to have a great season last year but you guys haven't seen me when I don't have a good season!! My husband says I need professional help when the season is over and I have tags left...LOL.

Rocky I haven't ever even tried shooting ducks from the hip, but i have shot doves from the hip, also one handed, and over the head.


Saying that makes me sound like a better shot with a shotgun than i really am. But really i just shoot A LOT! I pride my self in my archery shooting, shotguns i laugh at how bad i am. With the prices of ammo these days it's a lot easier to go out and shoot a bow, with reusable arrows than shoot a round of trap!

I will be headed out this saturday for the opener of grouse season. only 2 weeks till bow season opens here.

Well guys, i've got some good news and some bad news. The "Bad" news is I got the "small one" first. Notice the "" marks. The good news is that I've still got 2 more BUCK tags! and I GOT A BUCK! Team 1 strikes again!

It's by no means a monster, but he appeared, bedded down, then i decided that if he came within 10 yards i'd shoot. So he cam to 10 yards after two more deer came in and when he was at about 20 yards i made the shot. Hard quartering away shot, went in right if front of the hind leg, exited right behind the opposite front leg and he only ran about 60 yards.

I'll score him tomorrow most likely and get a picture. He'll probably go right about 100.

The score! I believe he actually scored 105 gross, so he's a little bigger than i thought, and 99 typical. I attached the picture of my score sheet that i made in microsoft excel. Makes it easy to see all the different scores!

and hopefully i'll have the pictures of the deer itself up tomorrow! I have to say they aren't the best pictures, but it was dark by the time i found him while in a downpour, so we just took a few in the driveway today.

Hey guys and thanks for the welcomes! Grat on the deer Blake. Good to get the taste in your mouth. Now your ready for the big one. Season opened here yesterday in Kansas too bad I had to work. Ready for the weekend to roll around. Got several brutes cruising in and out of a bean field I've been watching. I just hate to kill one early in the season because I love the colder weather and rutting action :). Anyways Glad to be apart of the elite of the elites of bowhunters on huntingnet.com. I need to work on a Sig. now anyone good at that stuff? Nothing like being on the number 1 team ;)

Got my clothes hanging out side washed and ready to go. I had to tune my bow last minute yesterday. Was shooting in the back yard and couldnt get my broad heads that have alway flew like my field point to fly right. Drove 10min to the shop, 20min of paper tuning, bodda bing. Got all my arrows spin tested and slapped on all my grim reapers on and be heading out in the morning. Good luck and happy hunting to you guys that are going to be out.

Well i'm still waiting on those pictures, but i went out again this weekend, only saw some does, and one big buck about 1/2 mile away from our property on the way to dinner. Hopefully come rut he'll wander on over in front of my tree stand, he probably went about 140-150

No need to fear camokenny is here! LOL. U guys ready to repeat? I am lets do this! Season opens sat. but I will be hunting does for the first few weeks unless mister big happens to get in the way. Doing a managment hunt first does only until I shoot three then I get a bonus buck tag for a state park. Glad to be back. Talk to you later.

Season opens this weekend and I am so excited! Going to be out all weekend! Stands have been set, bows been ready, clothes are washed and I am ready to go! Hopefully mr right will present himself this weekend, if not put something down!
