Pa_Yote_Hunter checking in. I am hunting in SEPA and have seen a few good deer in the area. Unfortunately one of the biggest 8points in the area just go hit by a car a week ago.....

Still should be a good hunting season though.

Checking in! I will be hunting a large tract of private land in south central and southern Iowa... Got a few monsters to hunt this year, but limited time... This will be my first year with this limited time (new job)...

Betterbirddogs checking in. I'll be in SE Kansas where the giants roam. Have a few good bucks on camera. Have lots of places to hunt, it'll be a fun year. Shot a 150" last year about 600 yards from the house.

Here are a couple of freaks from last year. I didn't hunt that place very much. I know these deer survived because we seen them in late Dec. Hard telling what they look like this year. These two will get you thinking big deer!

Sorry guys my girlfriend was logged in and I didn't realize it before I posted. We hunt together a bunch. Looking forward to a good season.

Whacker checking in. My name is Matt I am 27 yrs old and Live on the Eastern shore of Maryland. I'll be bowhunting MD mostly (season opens on the 15th) and the family farm in Northern PA. I may Hunt Deleware some this year also. The property I hunt in MD borders the Deleware state line and I may get a license. DE comes in on September 1st.

Hey everyone, Half from Texas here. I wanna say gl to all of us. I hope everyone can just touch base once a week and let everyone know ya aint forgotten about us. pics are always nice. I'll have a cam out in the next few weeks er so. I dont wanna get anyones hopes up, I have struck out the last 2 years as far as a big buck goes, but I know if I didnt sign up I'd get Drop Time, and be pissed I didnt sign up lol.

Thanks Iowabuckhunter. I hope you connect on a nice one this year. If you do & if interested in getting it mounted, call early. I'm going to be cutting back on the number of heads I do this year. I accepted a new full time job that eats up a lot of nights & my wife and I are expecting our first kid in a couple weeks. So I won't have as much time as I used to for taxidermy.

Yeah, I hunt around the Dubuque area. Actually south of Dubuque in Jackson County. How about you? What part of IA are your from/hunt?

I'll mostly be in Guthrie County this year, and with a little luck I will be getting into a couple of our other little honey holes, but they have only been managed for 2 years now. I also have access to some prime land down in Van Buren County right north of the Missouri border, but due to time constraints i.e New Job, I probably won't make it down there at all. I normally take all my animals to a local taxidermist, but he's become quite popular and it takes him a longer period of time now to get them back, so I'll be shopping a bit this year.

I actually went to school up in Cedar Falls a few years ago, so I know the northeast part of the state pretty well.

I second both... Purely out of my laziness and lack of originality on the team name, and KMCO seems to be doing a good job so far.

Hey guys, looks like most of us have signed in. Pretty impressive. I just sent some IM's out to those that haven't signed in just yet. It's still early so I'm not too concerned.
Thanks for the votes being cast for me as your captain (you are all my BFF now!), but I am hoping that someone here will step up and offer to be the team captain. I know a lot of you would like to do that. So if you would like to do that then please let me know and I'll be the first to nominate you! If no one offers and the official votes have been cast and verified by some accounting firm, then I will accept.
Halfbaked's name and avatar works for me. I like it. And if we use that avatar I will try to twist his arm to see if we can get 'Team 3' inscribed on the arrow shaft.

KCMO you have my vote……Red Mist is cool, is there a way to add a “gut” color mist to the avatar. Because when I shoot there is not always a red mist.

Okay, thought I would post a pic or two. Here's a guy that we had our eye's on last year. Glad he's still around. Not the best picture, but hey, we aren't here to take pretty pictures. Do you think he's a shooter?

Boys, boys, boys....what's wrong with you? Of course I have my ducks in order for when this kid comes.

First off, I have a week vacation scheduled for the first part of November to bowhunt.

Second, my wife agreed to try for a September baby (our season opens in October). If no luck for September, we would 'take off' trying, then start trying again for a January baby.

Third, my wife is super cool about hunting. She doesn't hunt herself, but understands my addiction. To give you an idea of my last calendar year, I bowhunted October-November, shotgun hunted in December, mounted deer (taxidermist) from December until July, turkey hunted in April-May, went to Oklahoma hog hunting in March, planned a 2013 MN bear hunt, all on top of shooting archery tournaments 11 out of the last 16 weekends, checking cameras, hanging stands, ect. She understands and made the comment that there is no offseason...haha. She's great.

And did I mention I have a week of vacation designated to bowhunting the rut...lol.

Oh yeah Bob, I've been to LaMotte my fair share as well...lol I actually hunt about 5 minutes from LaMotte.

He is a nice buck KCMO, at least I would have a hard time letting him walk.

Checking in.... Hopefully should be a good year and can't wait to get to know everyone a little better. Wife and I just had our second kid a few months ago so no elk hunting this year - deciding to focus my time on whitetail hunting this year instead... Pumped that I drew an archery tag down in southern IA this year - been a few years since I've drawn - so that's where I'm planning to spend most of my sweet Nov. prime time this year.

Hey Zub - so do we get a 'team rate' for taxidermy work this year - ha ha... Those are some sweet looking mounts on your site!!

Thanks for the kind words. You guys got lucky....you are teammates of 2 quality taxidermist. Kydeerhunter03 mounts a very nice whitetail as well. If you get some time, look in the archives of the buck she took last year and the fantasitc job she did on the mount. I understand there is little chance that either of us will mount any of your deer, but please do us both a favor and do some homework before you select a taxidermist. There are a lot of shady ones out there. If you need help finding a good one in your area, I would be glad to help point you to someone.
