Guys, just got back from Texas. I filled out my last tag yesterday afternoon at the LBJ Grasslands. My season is now over. This bird weighs 18 lbs. 7 oz. I'll post pictures tomorrow.

Default congrats superstrutter

Good job on another nice bird, you've got me beat by far. Let's get the story, remember it's not boasting if you are actually good at something! Is there a chance you could help me get the pic from my cell phone to the post? I did get a jake the last evening of the season. lets hope our northern brothers can get some of those big northern easterns limbhangin' It's 9:30 am and i've gotto be back to work at 7:45 pm & need my beauty sleep. I feel bad that i couldn't get a bigger bird, & hunted hard but an 11th hour jake was the best i could do. Good luck on those big swingers!!!!!

Out again this mourn (some rain) had a couple hens answer but no gobbles. Have not heard a bird yet but did hear 2 shots near me. I know there are birds they just don't want to let me hear them yet. will keep trying as i have a month.

Here are the pics of my bird. You can read about the hunt on the bragging board. My season is now over. This has turned out to be a great season. This bird weighed 18.7 lbs., had a 9.5 inch beard, and 3/4" spurs. He officially scores 52.4375. Good luck to the rest of you hunting. Congrats springspur on your 2nd bird. We are still looking pretty good, so keep the birds coming.

Out again in mourn passed on two jakes at 50 yrds. Was questionable and would like bigger bird. May not have been the case at 35yrds. As it will be first bird with a gun and I still get excited.

Anybody hunting? It's been aweful quiet here. Haven't heard a word from half of our team in a long time. I will start mailing out stickers this week. Only four of you have pm'd me your mailing address. Come on guys, at least tell us how your hunts are going, successful or not.

I got a bird on the last day of the season! I have only been hunting five years, but this is the first year I have tagged out. He was with four other toms and they were just feeding through. I think they may be finished breading here in KY or just taking the afternoon off.

Stats: 19 lbs 2 oz, 10.25 inch beard, and 7/8 inch spurs.

Score: 19.125 + 8.75 + 8.75 + 20.5 = 57.125

The spring season is over for me. Good luck to those who are still hunting! Let us know how it's going!

Default congrats s newton

nice bird, it pays to stay in the woods. i was hoping things would pick up for those with later seasons. it's nice to get a good gobbler and avoid tag soup!!!
