Well guys whacked one out this morning. I was beginning to wonder if it was going to happen. I hate hunting field turkeys, but I crawled 250 yards on by belly to get this boy. He's a 2 year old with a full fan but not much beard or spus. I have to download the pictures. Bird weighed 19 lbs. 6 inch beard and 3/4 inch spurs on both sides. Maybe this will help.

I'm having trouble resizing the pictures.

This bird had 2 hens with him and never said a word. I seen him about 7:20 am and knew he wouldn't come to a call. So I slid my turkey vest off and deceided to stalk him. We played this cat and mouse game for over an hour. I would call and he would just look the other way. So I crawled on my belly across the field. When he would get behind some small trees in the field I would move faster trying to gain some ground on him. I crawled in the direction they were going and deceided to let the hens do the work for me. When he showed up at 30 yards I never let him take another step, Rolled that joker. Hunting has benn tough in S.E. Mo this year I'm happy with him.
He weighed 19 pounds had a 6 inch beard and 3/4 inch spurs but had a full fan. Tropy in my eyes.

I killed 1 friday morning its no monster but its unique. Where the beard comes out of the bird its somewhat split. Its either 1 beard or 4. I showed numerous people and got numerous answers. So i will post a pic and let you guys determine how it should be entered. It was a tough week of hunting. I normally wont shoot a jake and try and hold out for a long beard. But this year was an exception. I do have another tag left but my days will be limited. Anyone else still hunting?

Today is the last day for us, looks like I am only using one of my tags this spring. I am thrilled to death with my bird though.

Congrats to all you guys!

I have one week left and one tag left...hopefully I will fill it. Doubt I will kill a bigger bird though. Hunting is tough now that they have shut up.
