Team 5 Thundering Toms
#151

I have been going out about everyother day. I have not been able to seal the deal yet on any more toms, but I am getting close. On Sat. I had two nice toms come in but they were in a race to get to the top of a hill right next to me to start strutting. I could not get them to stop. Then Sun. I had three smaller toms come in and present perfect shots but they got a free pass. Then today I had another nice tom come in and the only shot that I had would of resulted in a couple of dead hens as well. Oh well, I still have till the end of May to get one so I am in no rush.

I've had about a million things come up keeping me from being able to get out there and get a bird on the ground.
Hopefully I'll be able to get something done this weekend. About 2 weeks to go until the season is over and I still haven't gotten a chance to try out my new turkey gun.

MJR10 reporting in to the team thread. I hunt NY and our season is just getting started May 1st. Been out a few times and passed on some jakes and a bearded hen. I'll be back out Friday-Sunday this weekend. A little thing called work is keeping me out of the woods more than usual this year...

mjr10 welcome to the team. As you can see we have 8 birds on the board and are still way behind the leaders. I am tagged out with 7 birds down so it is up to the rest of the team to take us to the top.
Good luck everyone.

I just haven't been able to close the deal yet this season. Missed one, had one hang at 60 yards and another two hang at 80 yards. Have put close to 1200 miles on the truck so far this season and have nothing to show for it. Leaving tomorrow evening to go back after them Friday and Saturday and probably Monday morning. Here's hoping my luck changes.

Well, 5 days of hard hunting on 3 different properties produced some close encounters but no dead birds. I was supposed to be done by now but my wife informed me that I need to pick up my son from UW Madison next Saturday and suggested that I leave Thurs, hunt Fri and Sat, morning then pick him up. She either really loves me, or has a boy friend! JK (I hope)
