I though I would be taking my cousin out for youth, turns out I won't be!
He is to scared to practice with the gun. So I told him he cannot go. He doesn't want to practice, but he still wants to hunt... He cried until his dad let him go deer hunting last fall, which I am still pissed about. Only gun hunting we do is Shotgun 1, with a group of 20 hunters. Rule is you have to be at least 13, and have some experience, so you can be alone. The kid don't even know how to load the gun. Oh well, 3 more mornings I get to sleep in!

Monday went scouting in Southern Iowa with the son of the landowner. Nice! A lot of property, mostly woods, and well developed for hunting. We still have snow on the ground, and overnight temps in the 20's, so no vocalization going on by Turkeys. We will do at least one more trip down there after it warms up to get a better idea of where to set up, being there is so much land. This might be the best land I've ever Turkey hunted on, which after a couple of years pounding Public, is a welcome relief.

If there are turkeys there im sure you will be able to get on them. Are team seems to be into birds and seem to put them down every year. i wish i could math my bird from last year that would really help us.
