Hey do I get credit for calling in a Tom? I mean only ting I didn't do was shoot it.

Wait I am Contest Admin - just a sec I'll ask.....

Dang it no!

Anyhow called in a 21lb 8 oz tom for my best bud today. I do think if I would have left the door open on the blind the bird would have stuck his head in and asked "Het Where's the Ladies?"

I got nervous - and excited as I heard it drummin but when I saw the bird the tail fan was within pluckin' distance! i told the bud to shoot and he shot my blind as the bird was less than 4 ft away! Now that is up close and personal. I'll post pics...nice tom...very memorable hunt - left at 1 AM and 13 hrs later I was back home for a long awaited nap!

well no news to report here. I had a good morning with some action. I worked a bird and had him gobbling every time I called. he was in a field strutting his stuff and I was in the woods about 60 yards off the field. I couldn't get any closer without getting busted. He got close enough that when I purred with the RED NECK WIDOW MAKER #3 mouth call he sounded off. I never got a shoot opp and then as things would have it a couple off hunters came in, they mush of hear him gobbling and they ran him off. Oh well it was fun!

Don't think my bird will help, shot a PA dink

I don't shoot jakes but this bird was no bigger than a jake at 15 lbs, a definite 2 yr. old with a 9in. beard and 3/4in. spurs. Shot on Gamelands at 11:55 am, where 12:00 is quitting time here. Got really windy and most hunters left, got this bird and his buddy fired up at 11:10 and barely got it done. Small bird but a Public bird that has been harassed, killed him on my way back, just a couple hundred yards from the parking area.

Hopefully I can fill my other PA tag with a bigger one to help the team? Although I may hold it till the last couple weeks and try Ohio agian? Call me a glutton for punishment, but hoping the Ohio crowd on Public has thinned? Would be nice to fill that tag, and use my PA later, time will tell?

I posted the score on the other thread, but would not let me upload pics?

Won't help - YES IT will!!!!!

The contest is that close and any bird entered is a trophy in my mind.

The team I was on last yr won the all bird event and it looks like we are running away with that again.

I wanna win best bird and you score

Your score is 15 + 7.5 + 7.5 + 18 = 48

puts us at 428.4375 which bumps KeeKee Krew Team 8 back to the Avis spot of 2nd! with 401 sumthing!

and we in the lead again!

Come team group hug for Buckhound! Atta boy - it was no dink - not even close!

Like I said in many areas a poult score will make the difference!

JW

Oh and please welcome joshen520
Josh is our 13th team member for luck! All teams went to 13 members.
