You have to love public land. I went out yesterday and got on a hot bird, there was no one else in the woods. The gobbler just did not want anything to do with me.
Went to the same spot today, there where 2 trucks parked there when I got there. I heard the same bird , in the same spot but I got to close to him, about 70 yds. Called to him, he gobbled a couple of times. They flew down, there was 2 gobblers, they flew about 70 yds behind me and within 3 minutes of them hitting the ground I heard a gun shot. There where 2 gobblers that flew down and I saw one fly away. There where 2 guys already there, 100 yds behind me, I had no idea they where there. They never called, never hooted never made a peep.
If it was not for bad luck I would have no luck at all. I hope to get out a couple more times, only 2 weeks to left.

Went down this weekend and checked my trail cameras and have been getting a few turkeys on camera. I think I'm going shed hunting for elk antlers in New Mexico this weekend, but should be getting back down to my land for some Turkey hunting sometime before the end of the month. Our season doesn't end here until May 15th so I still have a little time.

I'm still hunting hard fellas. I only heard one bird this morning. I'm starting to get frustrated. I'll be back at it tomorrow.

Its hard to be motivated at the moment. My truck was broken into 2 nights ago and my brand new Glock 23 was stolen. They hit about 20 cars in the area. I don't normally keep the gun in the truck but I just didn't take it out after getting back from the hunt club earlier. The gun was only 9 days old and it was an anniversary present from my wife. Needless to say, I'm pretty pissed about it...not to mention the $900 in damage to my truck. The thought of some low life piece of $#*&% digging through my truck just makes me furious!

Dude, that stinks. I have had lock-ons stolen from private land. My jeep got broken into last year and they took my ipod and MacBook Pro. I hate feeling violated. My prayers are with you.

Hey guys got back from my trip last night. I had a blast hunting Kansas and Oklahoma. I was able to get two birds in Kansas and one in Oklahoma had a awesome hunt.

Killed a good double bearded gobbler this morning here in SC. I'll post pics and a story later this afternoon!
