Hi team 7.

I work in a factory and have countless hours to stand in one place and think of things like turkey hunt contest team names. A couple I came up with are:

Spur Squad
Tom's Last Temptation
Final Yelp
Beard Bro's (and sis's?) lol
Springtime Assassins (my favorite)

Or we could just call ourselves 2011 Champs! haha

o and we will also need to decide on a team captain, some one that will be on here quite often, and knows the site and how things work.

I'll vote for 'Springtime Assassins', and I don't care who the captain is. If anyone is up for it go for it, but if there are no takers I guess I'd do it.

I'll PM everyone on our team and try to find the late check-in's and try to get everybody's vote for our name/captain.

My season in Pa does not start till April 30th, besides a couple other States, PA has one of the latest start dates.:(

Although if things go well and I get some extra time, my season could start a couple weeks earlier on April 18th in Ohio, as Non-Resident? Good Luck to all.

I'll be headed out next friday (mar. 18) for opening week Alabama, and my season in GA starts the 26th

So who on our team will be the first member to chase some timber chickens this year?

Just to get a feel for the team, all members chime in. How many tags will you have or look to get this year? And where will you hunt, your Home State, and if out of State?

1. Buckhound, atleast 3 tags, 4 at the most. Hunting in my Home State PA, and out of State in Ohio.

It was a tough weekend, gobblers were all henned up. Hopefully get a couple here in Georgia this year. Might make it up to Kentucky for a weekend. In college so I take what I can get right?

I'll be hunting easterns here in Illinois. We have 5 different seasons here starting the beginning of April and ending the beginning of May. I have tags for the 3rd and 5th. I think the 3rd starts on the 15th, but I'm calling for my best bud that morning. I'll get to start in on them that Saturday, the 16th. This weekend I am hopefully going to be taking a young fella out for the youth-only season. I'm just as excited as if I was taking my shotgun!

I will be hunting Ft. Campbell, Ky and possibly TN on private land. have a total of 8 tags. Hope I can fill a couple. First day out was a bust, only some far off gobblin, nothin seemed to want to come in. Goin back out tomorrow to a little honey hole I have heard about. Supposedly not well known, we will see. Wish me luck.

I put one down this morning. I made it a quick hunt. I haven't had time to scout AT ALL this year and haven't even heard a bird gobble this spring. I went to a woods that normally has birds and set up my She-Mobile in the dark. Crows and owls were making all kinds of racket, but not a single gobble. I decided to yelp a bit, then threw in a few cutts. After just a couple minutes, here he comes on a string to my decoy. He stopped at 40y and went into a half-strut and I was able to identify him as a gobbler. It was a jake, but I don't have much time to hunt this season and I wanted a tender one to roast anyway. I'm sure he would have come closer, but I wanted to see what the Hevi's would do to him. I putted a couple times and he raised his head. BANG/FLOP! It was over at 6:10.

I have a herniated disc in my lower back and just walking is very painful and difficult. To say that getting my bird to the truck was awful would be an understatement. But, I got the job done. I plucked it for the oven and he had over a dozen hits in his neck and I didn't even try to find all the ones in his head. Only 1 or 2 in the breast. I love the Hevi's with my Indian Creek.

I wasn't able to weigh him so I got the standard 20 points for shooting a jake. I get to hunt again the last weekend of the month, so maybe I'll drop a tom for us next time.

Checking in for Team 7 with a bird. Our season in PA does not sart till April 30th, couldn't wait so got an Ohio tag too.:biggrin:

Shot a typical 2 year old loud mouth this morning. Nothing great on stats, your basic 2 year old. 18.5 lbs. 9in. beard and 3/4in. spurs.

Forgot to take my camera with me for outdoor pics, and only got a couple at home.

Hey guys, Checking in. My season here in NY starts on Sunday morning. Goes til May 31st. Can't wait to get out there. Good job to all who have gotten birds already!

Way to go Buckhound! Sorry I didn't get to you sooner. I have been out of commission for the last couple of weeks due to a back injury (must have been from carrying that giant bird I shot :)) Well, I just had lower back surgery Wednesday but I am back home and now I see that you put some points on the board for us. Good shooting.
