Western MA Hunter 03-08-2011 05:18 AM

We will win this thing this year... Arrow and I's team almost got it last year!
I have no idea on making an avatar... should be a jellified head or something!
Anyway... I'll be hunting primarily hardwoods and some fields here and there...

Were gonna seal the deal this year :barmy:

Western MA Hunter 03-09-2011 04:12 AM

These other teams won't know what hit them... gonna pile em up... each of our total bird scores will beat most of the other teams totals!

Can't wait. May actually even pick up my CT tags again this year too... just to shoot a few extra!

Western MA Hunter 03-09-2011 05:03 AM

Our season doesn't start here until April 25!!! Ugh.... NY is close to the same.

Our 3rd annual youth hunt is April 23... that should be a blast this year...

Arrowmaster 03-09-2011 02:00 PM

I pmede our MIAs. They have responded back yet...

IBHUN10 03-09-2011 02:25 PM

How about this one

here it is avatar size

EFH 03-09-2011 02:28 PM

Weather's showing 40% chance of rain Tue.! Don't think it's going to be heavy though, and I'm hunting a big corn field on a high spot surrounded by river bottom... this could be real good!!!!

EFH 03-09-2011 02:29 PM

IBHUN10, I really like that!!

SouthernStrut56 03-09-2011 03:36 PM

That's a good lookin avatar bud! EFH, sure wish I could be sittin on a corn field opening day. Those birds oughta be allll out in that field when it rains, I'm jealous of you bud. Making the last mouth call tonight, I'll have em in the mail tomorrow. Should get em Saturday or Monday.

RPD63 03-09-2011 03:37 PM

IBHUN10, That really looks good. It gets my vote!!
Hey EFH, I saw on another post that you like the Hevishot Mag Blend. Is that what you are using this season? If so, what gun and choke combo are you using? Good luck on your hunt. Ray

EFH 03-09-2011 03:52 PM

Ray, Yea man I'm using 3" hevi 13 blends. I've hunted with my 1300 NWTF short turkey, x-long x-full win. choke for about nine years now. It's got a LOT of birds on it, but I'm having trouble with winchester about ordering a front sight. There rifled and it's fell off since last season (second time).
Times running out so I ran and got a truglo gobble stopper .665 for my Franchi I-12. Don't know what to expect but it was kind of late in the game to start experimenting. It is auto so I can send the hevi's flyin if I have to. LOL!!

Western MA Hunter 03-10-2011 04:14 AM

Avatar gets my vote as well...
EFH... how do you like the Gobblestopper? I have been torn on weather or not to get one for my gun.
Shooting 870 Supermag with 3.5" Winchester Supreme shells. May pick up some extended range this year as well to lead off with...

RPD63 03-10-2011 05:49 AM

Nasty out today in Florida. No scouting for me this morning.
Ray

EFH 03-10-2011 06:18 AM

Hey western MA, I havent even shot it yet! Was not expecting to use this gun, and everyone liked different chokes so I just went for price. I'll let you know next week if I post a bird!LOL!!

EFH 03-10-2011 06:21 AM

Ray, know what you mean about weather. It's been pouring down here, now it's windy and the high is 49 today! It's supposed to rain opening day, but this is the winning team so I'll just get wet!!!

IBHUN10 03-10-2011 09:24 AM

Snowed here in Michigan yesterday the wet heavy stuff, snowing here today again as well. Starting to get sick of the snow, doesn't mother nature know it's getting cose to turkey season!!

You got that right! Been a funny winter, starting to look up though. Birds all over the place on my trip from Big Rapids to St. Johns. Gettin' excited!

EFH 03-10-2011 07:03 PM

Welcome dandbuck, looks like we all landed on a good team!

EFH 03-12-2011 04:07 AM

Did anyone go scouting this morning? If so lets hear about it! Hopefully I'll be out in the morning. got a friend who went out yesterday and heard several birds!!!!
3 DAYS LEFT!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S EATIN ME UP!!!!!

Hey SS, got my package, thanks man! They will def be with me Tuesday morning.

RPD63 03-12-2011 09:11 AM

EFH, Went out Sat. after work to a place we are going to hunt on opening day. It is a W.M.A that does not require a quota hunt permit to hunt. I am not looking forward to dealing with all the people on this piece of public land but I do not have a choice. LOL Sure wish I could find some private land like most of the guys on our team. Oh well, come on opening day!!
Ray

Good to hear man! Let me know how they all sound and which ones you like best. That white one is sort of an experimental call, how does it sound? Is the southern charm as good as I made it out to be? Let me know so I can change em a little if I need to. Good luck Tuesday!

RPD, what part of Florida are you hunting?

blackheel 03-12-2011 12:32 PM
