Buddy shot a nice tom (20lbs 9.5" beard 1" spurs) and an hour later we setup on another tom with a hen, which turned into 6 jakes, 3 hens and the big boy. He never stepped within 75 yards of us, and the rest were within 20, so needless to say the biggest jake did the flop, can't be skunked this year!

Weighed 15lbs, 5 5/8" beard and 1/4" spurs, only my second jake but hey it eats and helps us better then the goose egg.

Your score is 15 + 2.5 + 2.5 + 11.25 = 31.25

Big Guy, Little bird on Left is mine, Little Guy, Big Bird on Right is my buddies...

MM, every bird will help the team out. Plus, nothing wrong with shooting a jake. Let us know if you get a bigger one to upgrade. I believe your bird may have put us back on top. Seven out of ten have killed at least one bird this year. As a team, we have taken 13 birds for a total score of 676.2625. Our best bird per hunter score, which is the score that counts, is 400.9975. We still have a good chance to win the contest.

Went out this morning. Very foggy and humid. Thank goodness for the Thermacell! I was set-up along the edge of a field below some overhanging branches. No gobbling off the roost today and I thought that would be a good place to set-up. After over an hour of sporadic calling, I was half asleep, just making a series of calls every few minutes. All of a sudden GOBBBBLEEEEE! This bird was maybe within 20 yards from me, calling from the edge of the field to my left and slightly behind. I scratched the leaves a little bit and gave a few soft clucks and he gobbled again. LOUD! Then, for no apparent reason he started putting and I could hear him getting further and further away. I don't know if my dekes spooked him because he didn't see them move or if he saw me blink? I was motionless. Anyway, that was the only action of the morning. Tomorrow is the last day of the season, and now its personal. I did not see this bird, but I just know he's a good one. I'll be back at it tomorrow for one last shot.

Been there and done that, but, if it were the last day and I knew where a longbeard was, I think I would have somehow found the strength to get out of bed. I guess we'll forgive you though. Is everyone finished hunting now? I believe we're still in the hunt for a team victory. I'm at the beach in Florida right now, so turkey hunting season seems like a distant memory, but it's always in the back of my mind. Good job this season guys.

I suppose my season is over as well.

Just after sunrise this lonely bird peaked his head through the wrong patch of briars, paced it off at 15 steps...

17lbs, 6 5/8" beard and 7/8" spurs

Your score is 17 + 8.75 + 8.75 + 13.25 = 47.75

not my biggest but best this season!

Picture at the scene of the crime....

Picture after riding in the vehicle for a couple hours...quite stiff!

Thanks for a great season!

Great job MM. I will submit your new score to replace old Jakezilla. That will help us even more. Congrats on a succesful season.
