I hope the turkeys are around the first week in May.. I have been doing some scouting and saw 7 toms this morning.. Here is a little warm up for you all. There is actually 6 toms in this group.. Sorry for the picture quality.. They have just opened this area up this year! It is the first year this area has ever been open to turkey hunting!! I can hardly wait to nail a big tom..

I see a few Jakes there!

Oh and I am back - 1 shot - 1 kill! Not a real big one to start.

You are right JW some are jakes in this pic. There was at least 50 birds in this flock at the time the pic was taken. I was using a Bushnell binocular camera so the pic did not come out very clear. I wanted to get the most birds doing the strut I could get in the pic. I am thinking the flock has broken up now though. I have seen several jakes all hanging to gether with maybe a hen or 2 but that has been mostly it. I have been seeing a couple of bearded birds around a half mile away with a few hens though. I know they are there waiting for opening day though...
