Well he wasnt huge but we are at least on the board. I have been so busy the last few week I havent had a chance to get on here but shot a 5pt with my muzzleloader.

First year I have hunted with a muzzleloader and opening day I decided to hunt a ground blind we had setup. The end of shooting light was at 7:00pm and at 5:30 had a small yearling doe wonder by and she looked really tasty so I shot her. Droped her in her tracks. So I had another hour and a half before the end of shooting light so I reloaded the muzzleloader and 15 minutes later at 5:45 here comes the 5pt up the hill. Had a good size body on him but his rack wasnt huge but being a meat hunter mainly I decided to take him. 65 yards double lung pass thru and he hit the ground like a sack of potatoes. Needless to say I am really pleased with my muzzleloader and I really like hunting with a muzzleloader. I will hopefully post up a pick and the score soon. I have to get my girlfriend to send me the pictures and I will post them.

Where are you hunting in Illinois? And if you want to be Captian go for it. As for myself, we are heading out on Thursday, 1 last day of bow hunting aand then gun season on Friday. Should be good as most of the deer I have seen have just been out of bow range...

Congrats on the Buck and doe sdprice!.... I have been bowhunting my nads off. I had the #1 buck on my hitlist at 25yds and couldn't close the deal.... He came in with the wind at his back (go figure) and locked up looking at my decoy.....25yds!!!!! argh.... Unfortunately I cannot hunt this piece during gun season (nobody can). It is an island in the Mississippi River owned by the Corps of Ingineers..... So hopefully he will still be there for me after gun season. Gun season starts here Friday. I am heading down after work. Takes me @ 4.5 hrs to get there (southern Illinois)......

Here is a pic of the big boy I had at 25yds..

Good luck to y'all during gun season ....
