Great buck, Ron!

Heading out this weekend to one of my "special" spots. The bucks are barely starting to cruise, but the recent snow should get them working more.

Hey team, I'm back in the office for a couple of days, sat with the muzzleloader for a couple of days, no shooting, had a couple of decent bucks in range but was hoping for the big brother of my archery buck, had a nice buck walk out yesterday but then some guy in a wife beater tshirt with a little blaze vest wearing runners and jeans (it's right at freezing and there's a foot of water in much of the bush) walks up to my 16 foot box blind on private land and says.....so, you seen anything??? arrrgghhhhh!!!!!!!!! got out of the blind and went back to the city, turns out there were 6 or 7 of them out there all "lost" as he put it, the first week of rifle season brings out the nutjobs!!!

Did you run them off? I used to get "lost" people all the time when my family owned a bunch of land. We had a repeat offender that finally had his coil wire pulled with a note left to where he could come find it. He was sneaky and would camoflage his truck.

Ya we explained the situation to them and drove him by Rhino off the land but we heard a pile of shots and knew they were all around the area, got in the truck and headed back to the city, will go b ack out when things settle down and the weather turns colder

I did it guys! I got a nice 5x5 on the ground. My best deer so far. I'll get some pics and measurements up as soon as I can.

Congrats. Looking forward to seeing the pictures. Ever since I shot my opening day buck, it's been kind of slow here. I've seen several young bucks, spikes and 4 points, but the big boys haven't become active yet. I took a friend with me last weekend and he killed a decent 8 point. I put him on one of my best stands and told him to shoot what makes him happy. He was happy. Hopefully the larger bucks will be moving soon. Looks like everything is starting a little late this year. Don't know whats going on. Good luck guys. Ron, great buck. Looks like you got a real nice place to hunt.

Great buck, Mottz!

I'll put him in the picture/score thread for you. We're using gross.

I got a decent whitey buck today after a long, tiring weekend chasing down and harvesting an antelope someone else had wounded.

Finally got to hunt deer this morning and was done buck hunting by 9:00. Elk and doe hunting the rest of the year to top off the freezer.
