What Do You Think?

What do you think, would make the firearm deer contest better?
I am working on getting some sort of prizes for the winners.
But remember it is just for fun.
So what would make the contest better?
Thank You

jrbsr, it's beyond your control, but it sure would improve things if everyone who signs up actually sticks around. It's always fun to join in on these activities, but frustrating when someone signs up, gets put on a team, and disappears off the face of the Earth.
I guess the point of my response here is to implore everyone who makes the initial commitment by signing up, to participate with gusto.

it is always annoying when you get someone on your team that ends up disappearing and doesnt contribute to the team at all but i feel if there was some sort of prize it may give guys a little incentive to stick around. Also just make sure if people dont stick around they get replaced with someone who will after the contest gets going. The contest has been great the last few years and its always a pleasure to take part in. Thanks for running it jrbsr!

It seems like there are way more no shows in the deer contest than in the turkey contest. A word to everyone, if you sign up and are placed on a team, please check in and keep in touch with your team. It doesn't matter if you kill one or not. You don't hear from many team members who don't kill anything. Let your team know how your season is going, good or bad. I really don't think prizes are going to be much of an incentive, unless of course money is involved, and that's not happening.

I like the addition of the score sheet requirement.
It may actually help some folks scores like someone who shoots an 8 point and doesn't give themselves credit for the last circumference measurements past the last point on each main beam.
1000% agreed on the checking in issues in the past. Not sure how to avoid it though.

well last year, alot of the teams had started thier own thread. I think mabey we should have each member check in once every week or two. If they don't, they have to give up thier spot. If you are going to be gone without being able to be online longer, just let your team know.

sup jr.....it is for fun right? if it doesnt matter who wins, then i would do the mediocre prize. the team in the middle wins. Of course the biggest score would be awarded, 2nd and so on, but the mid score would be the prize winner..
