Well, I was planning to hunt on Saturday, but am now helping with a cattle drive that my Grandparents have every year. I figured I better spend as much time with my grandparents as I can because I may not have too many years left with them. I guess I'll be hunting over Thanksgiving break, then all of Christmas Break

7F report. Went out yesterday afternoon, I almost laughed my ass off. Three bucks were running does all over the place but nothing I wanted to shoot at. They were a little too far as well. I know the big one I saw last year survived, he was 60 yards from my stand last year, I am hoping I get a shot at him this year.

My area is very active now and will be in the woods the afternoons after work as well as sun up to sun down this entire weekend.

Good luck! 2dogs. It sounds like things have really heated up. I hope to be sitting in a tree no later than Sunday am. "Nov. 7th"- my favorite day of the year.

Man, I thought our team thread would be lit up with all sorts of stories by now. Kind of dead here. I'll see if I can't fire things up in the next few wks. I'm headed to Ga. this morning and will start hunting Sunday. We're going to be in Ga. for about 3 wks. or so and then we might head to Ky. to try to catch the tail end of the main rut or maybe the secondary rut. Should be a good 3-4 weeks. I'll be huntin' everyday unless we're on the road. As a side note I've had a lot of tracking calls already from being listed on the Georgia Outdoor News tracker's list. I should have a few tracking jobs to talk about.. I hate it that we got stuck in Miami and I wasn't able to take those jobs. Nothing worse than having to tell somebody that's called that your not there.
Anyways, good luck to anyone that's going to be out this wk. end. Let's go huntin!!!!

Went to check cams after work yesterday and was in a hurry so I left my bow in the truck. After a STEEP uphill walk of about 100 yards I heard leafs shuffling and looked up the trail to see a buck making a scrape. I had a camera with me to check my camera cards with it. My first thought was to take his pic because he had no idea I was there but then it dawned on me to run to the truck and get my bow. I trotted down the hill and headed back up at a good trot and then realized I would be to out of breath to shoot so I slowed down and eased up to where I could see where he was scraping and he was still there. Right on cue he turned broadside and looked my way as I sent an arrow his way. About 40 yards up the trail was the prettiest sight I have ever seen. He has a 9 point frame with split G2's, a 1 3/8 kicker off the back and a 2 inch kicker off the base hooking out over his eye. He has 13 points over 1 inch long. The little bumps that they have around the bases go up to his G2's and even a few on the G2's. Used to if you could a ring on it you could count it so I tried to count the ones that would hold a ring. I quit at 112. He totaled 136 on the 13 scoreable points. Can't get pics to work will try later. I put him on the scoreboard but can't get pics there either. It may be Monday but I will get them up ASAP.

Wow, what a story. Can't wait to see this buck, sounds like a very interesting rack. Congratulations on a fine buck. Get some pictures up with you, the deer and the bow. We have our first point on the board.

Cold night tonight, low in the 20's. Rain mixed with snow in the AM. Winds could be better but leaves are down so I will climb high. I am going to be sitting all weekend as we are near the height of the pre-rut, now is the time to be on stand, best time to bag a mature buck. Good luck and be safe everyone.

Things are heating up!

Congrats, Okie and clos21. WTG!!

Today was my first morning on stand and it was great. Passed on two 2.5 yr. olds (an 8 and a 6) and saw 3 doe's. The weather is awesome for the next 4-5 days and "it" is on! I can't wait til' tomorrow.

Good luck to everyone. Keep up the good work.
