the season didn't start out very good this weekend. Didn't get to hunt but one time sunday evening and everything was perfect. Doe came out about 30 yards figured i would go ahead and get one down and then i could hunt rest of while for a buck. Drew back settled in took my time and realesed. I could see the tracer nock fly right over her back. That is so frustrating but i guess is happen. On good note though did check my cameras and i've got some good bucks coming in the daytime now. Hopefully they keep coming

Well went this weekend. Had a great start to the season. I got in the stand around 5:30 friday evening and had a doe on the ground by 7:00. There were 3 of us that went and 2 got shots on does. Both went about 60 yds before piling up in the bottom. Sorry the pics were as blurry as can be. You can't even tell it was a doe. But I thought I would share. I hope to be able to go again this weekend but it may be a couple of weeks before I am back in the stand.

Was out in the woods this weekend, found three scrapes and several rub lines right where my climber goes. Checked my fathers ladder stand, lots of sign over there as well. Will stay away for the next 12 days since the season opener is 10/14.

Dan- Congrats on the doe, always nice to know you have meat in the freezer early in the season. To everyone, else, good luck, stay safe and let's start to get points on the board!

I have 4 kids. A son old enough to hunt alone and a 7 year old daughter that loves to go with me. My other daughter will not hunt and other son is 20 months old. I spend the first 2-3 weeks of October getting ready for youth season for the kids and spending time with them. When the rut kicks in they get to stay home with mama. I am on a 34,000 acre lease with about 100 people total so I have lots of room to hunt. I will do my best to help out and hope to get my first wall hanger this year. Last year my son killed his first buck and it was a 133" 9 point. There are some bigger but one that size will do for me!! Good luck to everyone!!
