2 days ago a button buck walked up 10 feet behind me. I didnt move a muscle for a half hour. It just stayed there eating and looking at me. Finally the not moving started hurtin my muscles lol. I had to move. The deer just looked at me. Then ran 20 feet and started rubbing its forehead on a tree. And then walked off. and YESTERDAY I had a nice 8 pointer walk about 50 yards in front of me. Too small to shoot though. Probably scored around 110. Im still lookin for the big one I saw 3 days ago. He walked out of a big thicket and walked straight down a rub/scrape line thats about 200 yards long. I was sitting in the middle of it. 10-12 pointer, 140 class. He was walking right to me! At 20 yards a squirrel started running in the dry leaves and that buck looked up and snorted and ran the other way. UGH MFING SQUIRREL. I had a bush in the way or else I woulda let an arrow fly. Oh well. The past 3 trips have brought me 3 bucks and a doe. So Ill be seeing more I hope. Im taking a camcorder with me today.

Well I decided to scout the land I'm on a little bit more and I brought my bow with me. I saw a doe and a spike eating in a corn field and I tried to stalk up on them. I got within 50 yards and they saw me.

Good job Centauri. Isn't the rut up there about peaking by now? I'm hunting down by Springfield where the 5 magic days are Nov. 13-17.

Yes the rut is just starting to peak. I noticed 3 rubs that were made last night so there are more bucks than the one I shot in there.

Congrats man. Im still trying for my first bow kill. Rut is going well here. Theyre chasing. Thats one of my favorite times to hunt. Im going out this afternoon. Hopefully Ill bag one.

It was frozen and in storage at the processor until my trip is complete. I'd feel stupid going in there and asking to measure it.
