Thumbs up Team 7 - The Blood Trail Posse

Just checking in for team 7. You guys (and gals?) ready for a great season! I think this year will be my year. I recently purchased a 4x4 truck, so I don't have to rely on other people to set my hunting schedule and plan on hunting closer to my house (so I can get out more). I found some great WIHA hunting land in KS last spring, while turkey hunting, that should yield some very nice deer. Out of one place I have in mind, my dad and I kicked out over 25 deer in one group. Should be a great one and I'm super pumped !

Checking in here from Illinois. My name is Scott, and I hunt a 365 acre farm along with some public ground. Last year I missed a mid 130's 10 pt. on Oct. 31st, but was able to connect on a 155" 12 pointer on Nov. 3rd. I've spent a lot of hours this winter and summer scouting 2 studs using our farm.

Hopefully we can put down some bucks and have fun doing it.

This is the buck I killed last year. By far the biggest I have ever tagged. I rattled him out of a standing cornfield for a 5 yard shot. I had checked a camera that morning, and had a picture of him from a few nights before on the other side of the property. He was a main frame 10 pointer, but had two 1.5" kickers coming off a browtine, making him a 12. He grossed at 155 4/8".

This next buck is one I saw a few times as a 3.5 year old in 2008. He was about a 130" 10 pointer then, but I never was able to get a shot. I never saw him last year, but I was able to capture a picture of him in late December. I've also seen another buck every bit as big as this one this summer while velvet scouting.

Nice looking buck Illinois Buck Hunter! I personally have never taken a buck with a bow; the only ones that I've had within range were too small. I took a couple of fat does last year (with my bow)and a fairly nice 11 pointer with my rifle. Hopefully this will be my year to score a buck with a bow!

Just got back from putting up two more stands. I tell ya, the older I get it seems harder and harder to put these stands up in the heat. 1 more to setup tomm. then I am done and ready to hunt the 15th of Sept.
