Way to go LC!

Hope you found him today Andy!

I'm stuck at home this weekend and it's killing me, the big boys are out chasing. Next weekend starts rifle season, so it will be awhile before I go after them with a bow again.

No joy today guys. Ruby picked up his track, and we found one drop of blood ~1000yds out from the hit. We carried the line out several hundred more yards, but there was no more sign. My best guess is that I single-lunged him. This was a tough loss, but I just didn't think the deer was dead yet. Questionable whether he'll survive the wound, but maybe someday we'll cross paths again...

Aww Andy! I'm sorry you couldnt recover it, hopefully he survives the wound and you'll get a second crack at him.

Last night was slow, I think I'm over-hunting my spot, so I'm going to a different farm tonight, unfortunately I dont know whats there (no trail cams up) so I'll just see what happens by, theres always a good chance to have a nice one wander by.

I tried this morning for a few hours and saw a chase, but two friends got hold of me and Ruby for tracking. We recovered a 8 pt buck 1.1 miles from the hit (our longest track). We then tried for a wounded doe, but we jumped her 5 hrs after the hit - we tracked her 1/2 mi+ in all, and concluded we weren't going to catch up with her - just very little blood.

I got out in my back woods for a few hours this afternoon and heard a chase - but too far away. Thursday is the day!

Hey guys! Made the hike to VA last night and hunted with the Muzzleloader today, and it was quite a day!! Took a 250lb bear this morning and a very nice 8pt 18" wide this evening!!! It's my best day in the field ever.

I should have had the bow with me tonight! We got back from the taxidermists late and ran to the woods so I didnt unpack my bow, the buck was within bow range when I shot it. Oh well, I'll be heading back to MD soon and I'll try to get one with the bow then.

Ed - again, very nice!

I had two shooters 40 yds out this am, but no chance. One was the big 8 I've seen several times. I am in a funnel, and needed a bit of luck. I plan to head back early afternoon.
