We've got our annual youth pheasant hunt next Sat sponsored by our local sportsman's club and dnr... we have 12 kids this year... extra safety course this Sat and the hunt is next Sat. My friend and I will be taking 4 kids (2 groups of 2) out for their first pheasant hunt w/ our springer... can't wait!
Always a good time!

alright glad to see your ohio hunt is back on. Great chance to get a big one. It has been so hot down here haven't been hunting in a while. Driving to southern Indiana this weekend to scout and set up a few stands on some property I have permission to hunt this year. Then heading to Alabama for the opener of bow season in mid Oct. good luck everyone.

The guys I am hunting with have some studs on camera... many 125-150" bucks seen.

My NY hunt out by the Finger Lakes is generally very good too. I have connected 2 out of 3 years on the bucks I posted earlier in this thread. That is Nov 17-21... So, it probably (hopefully) won't be my first buck of the year there.

Had a friend and his daughter come over this weekend for the Youth hunt that is the weekend before the bow opener. She took a basket 8 pointer for her first buck right out of my backyard. Never seen this buck before but I have chestnuts falling and it attracts deer from all around. Hopefully this Saturday I'll be able to get a nice buck up in the thick stuff waiting for dark to come eat the chestnuts. At least that's my plan, hopefully his plans will cooperate as well.
