You mid-West boys got some huge bodied deer!! They don't get that big around here. I think the dog runners keep the size of our deer fit and trim. We can get some of the racks, just not the bodies. Still have one month before the season starts here, not sure where to go first. The mountain property I hunt has been strictly managed for trophies for the past 6 years. We've taken 40-50 does each year and 5 bucks in the 6 year time. Seems every year I see some nice bucks that would be shooters the next year, but never see them again. It's 1500 acres, so there's plenty of land for them to roam. Last year was our first year planting turnips, each evening I would see 40 deer chowing down in a 5 acre plot, just no bruisers. Bottom line is I think this will be the year that property will produce big time.

I know what you mean Ufunny2, those midwest deer are huge. We occasionally get the 200 lber's around here but it's still few and far between.

BigSugar any luck on the avatar?

I know that itch. I just wish it would cool down around here. We were still in the 90's this week. I usually hunt the morning this early in the season, it's just so hot during the days around here. October can't get here soon enough.

A big thanks to BigSugar for all his help!!!!
