As work allows I will try to fill in the blanks, but I am from Caddo Mills, Texas. My first team in this contest won it, the next year we finished in the top 5. The next year I was on a new team and we finished in the top 5. Last years team really did not do to well...so I am primed to have a good year.

Got a little time here at lunch so I thought I would post a picture or two. I am hunting a new lease this year. The old ranch got sold a couple of months ago so I have been going nuts finding a place to hunt. I think I may have gotten lucky with this place. I put out feeders, pens, stand, and cameras on 8/8. I pulled the cards on 8/13. The card were in basically 5 days. I had lots of pictures. Here are a few.

We can't bait in indiana, so let me ask a dumb question. Why is there a fence around the feeder?

Keep the cows off of the feeder.

and this doesnt always even work, we have had cows walking around draggin the fence behind them before lol :party0007:

Now that I am at lunch.....On the baiting. I have hunted in states where you can and where you can't bait. I really think the difference is in the habitat. Where I am hunting the area is very thick. You do not have bedding areas, feeding areas, travel corridors. They just don't exist very much down here. Also I would love to grow a food plot. When I hunt in East Texas I do, but in the hill country it is not really possible. This new lease is 800 acres, per the land owner (who's family has owned the land for way over a hundred years) there is a total of 2 acres that you can grow stuff on. I know you can't tell from the pictures but the hill country is basically one big rock. To grow nice deer in this area you have to do the following...let the young bucks walk, kill plenty of does, and feed the hell out of them. On this 800 acres we will be feeding somewhere between 12,000 and 16,000 pounds of protein a year depending on the amount of rain received. We will not be killing bucks under 4 1/2 years of age. If you are just easing though the woods you can kill a deer but it becomes real easy to kill a really good 3 1/2 buck that should have been left. Down here hunting can be expensive. The lease is costing me $1750.00 per year + feed. I will probably have at least $2500 per year in it and maybe as high as $3000. It is 800 acres and there are 8 hunters on it. The total cost is $14,000 and it is a bargain at that price.

I hunt mainly in Kerr country. Season will start on Oct 2nd and run until January. I also have 125 acres in Van Zandt county that I might put a feeder/stand on. My wife works for the post office and was talking to a local guy last week and I might be able to put something up on his 100 acres place here in Hunt county. All counties listed are in Texas. I sometimes hunt in MS but doubt I get it done this year. I will be going back to the lease on 8/27 and will be posting some more pics on 8/30. Anybody else have any trail cam pics?

Hey everyone, I am Jenna...22 years of glorious age! I will be hunting the wonderful bluegrass state in Boone, Kenton, and Pendelton Counties. Archery starts on Sept. 4th and ends Jan. 17th and I have a few nice bucks picked out that I hope stick around :). I have yet to find a first buck to stick on my wall (as I am VERY picky) haha

Discus are a type of tropical fish that I raise. I will be hunting with a bow though the entire Texas hunting season so 10/2 though the beginning of January.

One of the guys on the new lease put up a feeder/camera on 8/15 and pulled the pics on 8/22 I think. He said he had 1600 pictures he just sent me a few, butI think we may have stumbled up on a really, really nice place...
