Mikey30067 is one of my hunting buddies actually and I informed him he was placed on the team so he should check in shortly. Him and I will be hunting together in eastern PA and have a load of big gobblers lined up so we should be able to put some scores on the board for the team.

As far as captain is concerned who would have the time and want to be captain? Fingerz and johnny have the most posts and have been members the longest but Rbaker you seem to be on the most. It really doesnt matter to me but I know I dont have the time to do it. And for team name, was trying to come up with some names, but couldnt think of anything good, here are some of the ideas:

Bows & Beards OR Bows & Birds --> could just use B&B
Toms 'R' Us
Flying Feathers
Beard Patrol
Spring Fling
Kings of Spring

I'm not good at thinking of team names, anyone else got input on the captain and team name situations?

I'm in the turkey contest for shotgun/bow/slingshot whatever you want on here as well (over in the turkey forum). I'm the captain of team 3 on that so I would rather not be on this one. Our team name over there is Sunrise Demise.

rbaker can do captain I would say... hes on top of things..

Yea Ive done a lot of scouting. Me and my father in law set up a feeder and two cameras last sunday and we checked them today. 13 turkeys, all of which were less than ten yards to the blind. I have a good feelin bout that spot. Season starts in 10 days!!!

Sounds like you should be in forsome fun soon!I scouted over my spring break and saw a lot of birds and turkey sign around my hunting spots. They have started gobbling heavily lately but unfortunately the season isnt for over a month for me still. I cant wait to get out there.

yea not a whole lot of activity here but wait till everyone is up and running with there seasons. mine starts tomorrow but I probably wont make it out till sunday. Hopefully this time next week I will have posted a bird on here

Yeah i was thinking the same thing, this competition if definitely dead. I believe no one has gotten a bird in this contest yet but hopefully there will be some taken soon. My season doesnt start till April 25th and I will be out there then hopefully getting one for us.

And good luck to you Rbaker, get us on the board. Let us know how you make out each day your out so we have something to do in here

Well I went out yesterday afternoon... didnt see anything! Its like they knew the season started and didnt show up. We have cameras out there and they are that the feeder all day. Last week we had a strong wind all day, and it was strong, gusts up to 91mph!!! and guess what we counted 14 in the picture. Same thing a few days later. Snow on the ground and I have pics of them covered in snow.
Oh well though, still have 60 days left.

Yes I have. I just got one this mornin. 21 pounds 9 1/2 inch beard and 1 inch spurs. i will post pictures as soon as I get them.

no I sure don't. The card that was in the camera is some how giving an error message when I try to load it onthe computer but it will work in a digital pic frame. Kinda weird. but hopefully I can i figure something out.

there is still a bigger tom out there that I want so if I get him i will count him instead. ill make sure to use a diff camera. ha ha

Well went out tonight to find some birds for tomorrow morning and saw two nice gobblers behind my house about an hour before dark. I hadnt seen any birds in a few weeks and figured I would be headed somewhere else but it looks like I will be sticking close to home and hopefully putting one on the board. Ill check in tomorrow with how it goes.

Well didnt get on this morning but had several opportunities. Set up near the closest birds we heard this morning and it ended up they had hens with them and the hens wanted to take them away. Called for a while, sounded like 5 or 6 different birds gobbling and a couple of hens. After a while of watching the birds at a distance 3 of the birds started going away from the group and toward my dad and I. It ended up being 3 jakes and they came in to about thirty yards. Never had a chance to draw but I dont think I would have taken one anyway.

Then after regrouping we went to another property and found two gobblers that were hot and came right in. They closed from about 150 yards to 20 yards in a couple of minutes and ended up swinging uphill some from me and came in to 15 yards straight behind pine trees so I never got a shot. It was two beautiful birds and I would of loved to have shot one but it didnt work out.

Anyone else go out today?

Called in three jakes on opening day... very little gobbling though..
I'll be out again this coming monday..
