2010-2011 Young Hunters Contest
 

Ok it's officially time to begin the Hunting contest. I know it's currently a bit early but let's get the ball rolling so that come the fall we have everything set up. So we'll use the same scoring as they do in the whitetail forum. At the end of all this I will randomly select teams. Good luck everyone. The scoring will work like this:

Whitetail (as norm): score x 1
Columbia blacktail: score x 1.39
Sitka blacktail: score x 1.67
Mule deer: score x 0.86

You will also need a picture with You, the animal, and the weapon you took it with all 100% visible. If not, it will not be counted. Good luck and here is the sign ups. Sign ups will end, say, August 31st.

Will the person who takes the best (not biggest) buck recieve any extra points

Wouldn't the best buck be the biggest? How else would you do it besides weight?

I emailed RedHawk hopefully he'll get it switched over soon. Can I ask why we're changing the rules from what we've typically done? The youth contest generally isn't focused on the size of the buck, like the typical whitetail competition is. The scoring has worked well in past years. And also, why are we limiting doe? I don't wanna offend anybody, but the past scoring has worked well.... so why change it? Just curious.
