Saw 19 does and 1 decent buck in a couple hours yesterday morning. The buck was borderline on being a shooter, probably a 140 - 150 class 4x4. For the contest you have to reduce the mule deer score by 86% so that would be equivalent to a 120 - 130 whitetail.

I did buy my license though, so I'll be over there next weekend and will hopefully have something to post about by the 10th or 11th. I'll be hunting my own property here in Texas that next weekend.

Hey folks, just checking in. Been busy stuff lately with about 20 hunters in camp. Seeing some good bucks, but they have only made a couple connections. Had one guy on stand 2 mornings ago, watching some does that bedded by him. The does got up after a bit and were very skittish. Next thing he knew a Mountain Lion came charging in and was chasing the does around. He didn't catch a meal and wandered off. not every day you get to see that.

Alright fellas im gonna put us on the board, I had a great hunt this evening, I got up the tree about 4:00 pm a little after. After sitting there 45 mins I seen a doe come out, I was sitting on the powerlines, having just bought a new rifle yesterday I said im not gonna wait lets break this gun in right off the bat. When I shot the doe a buck jumps out of the woods a pretty nice 8 point and starts to run I yelled at him he stopped and looked back, I said oh you just had a bad day and boom another dead deer. Being all pumped up I climbed down the tree in record time I do believe, got the wheeler and took them to the truck, Ill get him scored tomorrow and post him but hers some pics.

Congrats Southern Buck. I'm gonna guess 90" on that buck.

Remember that does count in the contest too. Get a picture of you, the doe and your gun and it gets the team 25 points I think.

Deerdust, that is an interesting looking buck. Must be tough having hunters like Brook in camp!

You can enter a buck + a doe in the contest.

Here's a quote from jbsr in the contest rules thread:
1 antlered buck, and 1 doe per team member, buck score + 25 points for = total for that team member.
Last year there were several folks that entered both a buck and a doe. 25 points start to add up if several folks shoot does.
