RTA, we have been getting hammered too. This rain has been non-stop for two weeks!! But you guys are getting alot more flooding than us. Ugghh, it will be weeks before we can drive at the hunt club. Glad to hear that you came out ok in that mess.

Passed on more deer this week. Does with fawns and button bucks. Kind of a very slow week in terms of deer sightings. Even when the rain would ease up some, they didn't seem to be moving. Hardly anything on 4 different trail cams.

Congrats on the doe Rickmur!! Tough luck on the foxes getting to her first. Feels good to have a deer on the ground at the start of season huh?

Man im jealous of whoever can be in the stand right now, Just put out a little bait in one of my spots, gotta set up my stand sometime this week after work. I will be using a climbing stand at another spot close to work. There i will be hunting old logging roads that are grown up a little bit, the deer love walking down them and slurping up the acorns.

Congrats onthe doe Rick !!

It rained and I got the afternoon off. Was sneaking into my spot and had the same 2.5 year old step out of the cattails before I could get to my spot. I've had him within bow range 3 times now. He was heading in the right direction at least so I followed him for a couple hundred yards. Got within 30 yards of him a couple times. He would browse for a couple minutes... walk a couple feet ... browse some more. By the time I got to my spot I only had a half hour of daylight left. I didn't see another deer let alone the tall six once I got there. At least the 2.5 year old entertained me on the walk in. Wish the big boys were as clueless. LOL
