Found some really good sign about 30 yards from the house today. Problem is I have no clue where the deer are coming from or going. Took a few photos with the phone.

The first few are rubs along my driveway and one of me grabbing the tree to show approximate diameter. The last one is one of the biggest tracks I've ever seen. I saw several, but the ground is pretty soft from rain and they were a little distorted. However, this one was perfect and it is 5" from the tip of the toe to the dew claws.

I decided make a fake scrape and set a camera up about 20 yards from the rubs. I also drug a scent rag with buck and doe urine around the area. If this buck is this serious about starting rub lines this early (about a 3-4 weeks early for my region) I figured I'd see how he felt about another buck in the area. If he shows up on the camera maybe I can pattern him and slip an arrow in him.

Jjones,

You need to submit each measurement (left and right sides) for your deer. Until Rob receives the breakdown, your deer will not be counted.

nice job okee but i have bad news and good news i have fractured my ankle in two places and im stuck in a cast for 4 weeks so depending on what day i get it off will depend on which day i can hunt but if i still have it on by archery season then i will make use of my new ground blind but it might be time consuming getting there with a bow on my back and cruching my way to the blind every morning lol

Sorry to hear it NY. Get better quick. I will be down for a while too. I'm suppose to be donating a kidney to my mom on 10/15. I'll have some pretty significant lift restrictions, but I plan to utilize the 3 months sick time to be in the woods as much as possible.

Ny best of luck with your healing, Wow Fire, good luck to you as well in your giving. Very admirable.

I had a lone deer work in on me on my mock scrapes last night at last light. He came in behind me and then moved off to the east. Never did get a good look at him. Back after em tonight, in a different area.
