Well guys it won't be long and I will be in the woods. I leave for Florida on the 30th for a wedding and will be back on the 6th of Oct and plan to go hunting that evening. I can't wait to get after it.

Good luck to everyone else and stay safe.

William

I haven't seen anything worthwhile from the stand, but had noticed that doe activity has picked up (cooler weather?).

Hey all, I haven't been out since sat. I'm off friday, so that will give me 2 days to hunt. I just hope I recover from this nasty cold I have enough to go hunting. I'm hoping in 2 days I'll be recovered enough to hunt...

If I feel well enough tomorrow I might slip out for an evening hunt at our waterfowling lease, there is only one spot to hunt deer, but since it doesnt get much pressure there is always a chance a good buck could be there.

Well I got a new job finally. I start the Friday after we get back from the honeymoon so I'll have 3 days off to do some hunting. Hopefully my dad will have one down by then, or at least be somewhat patterning them.

What do we do if/when we do kill one?

Well I FINALLY got out today for the first time. Opening day in VA. Went out behind my house ... saw 11 for the day. 9 does, 2 bucks. Didn't shoot anything....had an opportunity at 3 does 10 minutes after light, but I just couldn't do it on opening morning. Got plenty of time. One of the bucks was a decent 2.5yr 8pt...probably 80" or a tad more. I hope he makes it or my son gets him, I won't drop the string on him even if he comes close enough.

It was nice to finally get out....after hearing all these stories for about a month.

How's everyone else doing?

i have been out several times and have not had any sightings. Yesterday morning the wind changed direction on me and I got winded. I could hear the blowing but couldn't see what busted me. I get out a couple of evenings during the week, usually for the last hour and 45 minutes but do have next saturday and monday to hunt all day.
