Well guys I went for a walk with the bow at a new area near my college and ended up seeing 6 bucks and three of them were nice 8 pointers and one was a slammer. I was basically just scouting today but will be hunting there tomorrow all day so hopefully i have some good news tomorrow night!

Guys - season is going real well. Have had a few close encounters. A good friend hunted my stand and had 3 monsters (for NC) in on him at my food plot. One with "16 inch" G2's. Going to hunt Saturday (in the rain) and hope he comes back in. Anyone getting close?

Congrats jackflap! Awesome deer and a good score for the contest. I've been out 4 times in pa since the season opened and so far I have only seen one deer and that had me stuck in my stand well past shooting light. Going out again tonight, calling for rain the next 2 days and I want to get some more seat time in. Just a matter of time until the buck I am after slips up and comes in early. I have seen a ton of scrapes and rubs, looks like the rut will be kicking off a little earlier this year. Good Luck Team!

Had some encounters with a lot of bucks and a few nice ones on public land lately but havent been able to get close enough. Had a 400 pound plus bear come by at twenty yards today, too bad its not bear season

It appears you have stumbled across an area that is holding 50% of the Pa deer herd. I have seen less than 10 deer that whole season so far. I did however get some pics of the big 8 point I am after during light this past week. Too many acorns laying on the ground, if they have water nearby they have no need to move far. I haven't heard of anyone in Pa (until now) seeing many deer. Good luck, push some my way.
