Well I did it. The Hoyt Katera XL put it on one last night. Just before dark I grunt a spike in at 5:05. Pass him at 5 yrds. Hear something directly down wind in the Holly trees. Give 3 deep grunts and out pops a buck into the Oak flat from the creek bottom. I can see he has a good rack so I let him come to my left. he stops behind a Holly tree. I go full draw and he stays behind the tree for 3 minutes. Soon as he steps out I stop him, he startles stepping back and giving me a slight quartering too shot. I put the muzzy 100 grain on him at 5:08. I sit in the stand till dark. Go look where I shot and see a ton of blood. Im color blind and didn't wanna **** it up. So I back out and go back this morning with my buddy Butch. Find the arrow, its soaked. follow the blood trail and there his is 60 yards from the climber along the creek. 8 pointer not real wide but pretty tall. I'll take it. Prob post pics later

Awesome whacker!!!!!! Wearing a WVU shirt to boot. FYI, my nephew is the number 1 tackler on WVU this year last time I checked. He's Pat Lazear. You earned the next pic.
Here's my day. I took one for the team spent 12.5 hours in the woods with nothing to show for it. I had a decent 6 point that should have gone around 110 or 115 almost completely circle me just outside of bow range. I was going to nail him too because I said I just was going for first place. The day started so well. I left my moms at 4 am. Just outside the neighborhood a 6 pt was hit during the night. I turned around and thought I was set for my deer. No serious, I turned around and cut his scent glands off. What an awesome present to begin the day with! I jumped a big deer in the area I wanted to hunt walking in at 4:45am. I got in my tree and set up at 5:30 am. It was going to be an awesome hunt. NOT! At 10 am a high school field trip walked below me. Too funny. The buck showed 45 mins after they left. Unfortunately, he was my last deer of the day. Two more days this week to hunt. We'll see what I can shoot. Anything will add to our score in order to pad it more. I'm done Dec 10th for shoulder surgery unless I can comeback in Jan and shoot. My season isn't over until Jan 31.

Dang guys, we got leap frogged. We are in second, down a decent buck. I'm hunting in the morning before I hop on my flight in the afternoon. I'm guessing, I will rethink my shot in the morning and wait for a decent buck and perhaps take my bow back home with me so I can hunt local next week if I don't see anything. I'll make that call in the morning. I do want to share another pic so who is going to step up next?

Real quick guys. I have what turned out to be a small 8 thought he was a 6 right at legal hour (6:26am) below me. I was going to light him up, but held off because it was too early. At sunrise (6:56am), I saw a big one at 80 yrds. At least an 8 point w/20inch spread. At 7:26am that darn little 8 point came through again. Back up the same trail and same direction. I decided if I saw him a third time, I'd drop him.
I didn't get anything. However, I decided I will finally take some official vacation, you know declare I'm not working that week and hunt. That will be the week after Thsnksgiving. I will put points on the board!!!! What about the rest who haven't? You up for the challenge? Can you beat me?
