Well finally I put one down. I went out Thurs 11/12/09 and settled into my stand before first light. As soon it began getting light I had a deer coming my way, grabbed the bow and got ready, as it got closer I realized it was a big 6 pt with no brow tines and had to let it pass at a mere 8 yds because of PA antler restrictions. Things were quiet until about 0840 when I see a decent 8 on the ridge cruising for does. He was at about 60 yds and was staying up on the hill, so I grabbed the bleat can and flipped it three times. The buck instantly turned down the hill, crossed a small creek and came in to 22 yds broadside and the rest is history. Good luck to all who all are still out hunting.

Congrats on the buck!
I made it out tonight and had a lot of fun despite the rain. At 4:00 I had a doe come down the hill in front of me with three bucks behind her. Two were small, but one was a solid 150" or better 10 pt. I stood and got ready, but he never came out in the open for a shot. At one point he was 35 yds. away behind some thick cover. After hanging around with her for about 10 min. she took off and headed straight away from me with him in tow. A little frustrating, but still great to have an encounter with a buck like that. I may be able to get out one more time before this weekend. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are our first three day gun season. After that we have a week break than another four day gun season. After that one is a muzzleloader season, but no one on our lease participates in that. I have until Jan. 15 to put one on the ground with the bow.
Goos luck to all of you still out there!

Congrats Tom!
I have at several opportunities at a small 3 & 4 point but I've let them walk to get bigger for the next year or two. Then tonight my wife and I saw a monster. He was just off the edge of our property. He was a 12 pointer and huge! (My wife says he was more than 12) I would guess close to 170" range Hopefully I get a closer look and can put him down in the next few days.

Well, I finally put one down, but unfortunately it was with a gun. He came by chasing a doe at about 10:00 yesterday morning. Shot distance was 75 yds. severely quartering away. The slug hit low just in front of his rear leg and lodged under the skin in the center of his chest. He went 25 yds. and piled up. When I field dressed him I found that the slug had nearly blown his liver in half and had turned the top of his heart into burger. I recovered it and cleaned it up. I thought it would make a pretty cool souvenir.
I have definitely seen better deer this season. Hopefully I can put one of them down with a bow to help the team.
Good luck to all of you still out there!
