The season starts here in Michigan tomorrow...I won't be able to make it out even though the weather looks fabolous, but I will be making it out this weekend! Not expecting too much as far as getting a big one down, but ya never know! I'll just be glad to get out there!

I got on a new setup this evening and manage to see a doe.
I have to cut some lanes right away so the noise factor probably didn't
help much.

Well guys, no opening day tenderloins for me, but it sure was good to be back in the woods.

I leave for Indiana tomorrow (work thing) and will not be back until Friday late. I'm hoping to get out next Saturday, with any luck.

Take care and good luck to everyone.

Stay safe.

Well fellows, slow opening saturday for me here in PA.

Got in my stand at about 6:30 and only saw 9 turkeys around 10 o clock. Tons of fox squirrels were out and about and the temp was approximately 60 or alittle above. Got out of stand for lunch around 11.

Got back in my stand around 330 and again did not get any deer sightings. The same group of turkeys came back through before dark and roosted in a tree approximately 50 yards from my stand.

So all in all it was a good day in the woods but did not see any deer. Will hopefully get back out for a few night sits this week.

Good luck all!

Great opening day for me. Saw some young bucks and some does. No shots offered on the nannies. They were all in the oats at the far end of my plot. Going to be at that end tonight with the west wind. Should be good, if I can get out of work in time

I was able to make it out on Saturday. I passed up a small spike in the morning and also passed up a 2 1/2 year old 6 point in the evening hunt. I was surprised to see that the antlers just didn't grow like they normally do when the dear are 2 1/2 around where I hunt. It was a large bodied deer and he seemed pretty cautions. He doesn't have any mass on him but hopefully he makes it through the year and grows up a little bit for next year!

Here is the video of my hunt. The spike comes just after the 4 trail cam pics and the 6 pt is pretty much the rest of the video after that.

The temps have been really good about mid 60's in the day and going into the low 50's high 40's at night, perfect deer killing weather.. Good luck to everyone this week, i hope to have a buck on the ground soon!!
