Well just got back in it was a cold and rainy/windy morning but finally seen some horn while in my stand. Saw three bucks two little ones i believe one was a spike, one was a four pt, and one was realy nice. They were a little far off for a bow but would have really liked to have gotten a closer look at the bigger one, he had atleast 3 on one side and decent tine lenghth from what i could tell. If the weather holds off i am going back out tonight and try to get my climber a little closer to where they came through at if not than i'll be here watching football and.
AK man Alberta you got the life! One of these days i would love to make it up there.
And are you sure you want to start messin with your setup only a month out from your trip?

Nick- I'm lucky to have a brother in law in Alberta, every 3 years i can hunt with him and not need a guide. I'm driving to COLORADO to pick up my daughters household goods and trailer a her truck back. figured if i had to drive 12 days (round trip) I should add some fun to it by hunting esp since this would be when i usually do my annual WIS. deer hunting trip.
12 days driving and 4-5 days hunting probably 4.......pretty steep trade off.
not all of Alberta hunting has those monsters we see on TV

OK folks, Got the DSL hooked up but been having problems with the PC, hopefully I have it worked out now and will be around alot more.
Our season started this week but have not been out yet. Setting the wife up tomorrow, she can get pretty nasty this time of year if shes not bowhunting.
If any of you did not see it, my youngest son Zeb (RuttNutt) taged a great buck in Md yesterday.
Nick you have pretty much picked up the ball and ran with it, I would like to see you finnish out the season as captain if its not a problem for you and the others dont mind.

Welcome back Silver! Kim and I got out for the first time this year, and all we saw was a car drive by on the neighboring property. I wasn't really surprised at not seeing anything though after the first half hour of getting pelted and listening to uncounted acorns falling. The deer can pretty much eat anywhere they want right now.

Yeah you better make the wifey happy so you get to go play as well!
As far as me taking the ball and running with it wasn't trying to step on any toes i just knew you wouldn't be around an thought i would try and get some of this stuff done for you. I am fine with you as our captain. Unless you dont want to do it and if thats the case then i will. As long as the other guys dont have a problem with it.

What a crappy weekend for hunting here in Minnesota. Rain on Saturday and wind and rain on Sunday. It was so windy about a 25 foot ‘branch’ broke off and hit me while in the stand last night. Nice bruise on my arm as I cowered in the tree. Luckily it was more the top of the branch that hit me. needless to say, I got down and went home. Didn’t see a deer this weekend. I saw one right away on opening morning and then I haven’t seen one my last 5 times out.
A 9 pointer w/ a split brow tine and a decent 8 are spending a lot of time on my land. Eventually, I would think I’m going to run into one of them on the stand. We’ll see…
