RE: team 4
Had decent UP opener. Not as good as the last few years but we managed 23 ducks, and 2 geese sat. & sun. Shot mainly Widgeon, GW Teal, Mallards, and Blacks. I'll put some pics on in the next couple days. Had very good water, and conditions were good but not NEAR as many birds. Not sure why, other then they are still up north in the warm weather...

Sat is opening day
Got the decoys sitting ready to put out Friday evening
Tonight it started to rain with a cold front moving in
With a North wind
Should be a duck and goose murdering weekend
BTW
Had 3 flocks of geese land in the corn feild I got permission to hunt tonight
OH those were flocks of 50 - 75 Canadain geese each

I posted quite a few pics from the opener for ducks, and also a few weekly hunts. Lots of geese by us and their was a lot of local ducks but they are shot up. I guess 149 ducks in 3 days of hunting might do that...:-)

RE: team 4
Well I am hoping the weather turns nasty and runs the tennis shoe hunters out of the marsh
Tonight I sat on the edge of a small pot hole next to the refuge , got there early and only saw 1 other group at 2:30 pm , but heards a lot of doors slamming from 3:30 - 5 PM
Around 4:30 a small flock of geese left the golf course and flew to the refuge
They had to be a minimum of 150 yds up when they hit the edge of the public and quiockly gained to 200+ yds
At least 4 groups of numb nuts shot at the geese as they flew over
Had at least 3 groups cuss me out for setting up where I was at
As they all thought it was their hole and walk away bitching
I guess I sat up on the wrong side of the pot hole as I kept having singles drop into a small cut next to the refuge dike
About 45 - 50 yds away
Never even thought about shooting at them
Just before quiting time a singleDrake Woodietryed to sneak past me at 25 yds
It didn't make it
My dog found it in short order and I quit 1 min before sun set
Had to pick up my decoys and walk the 1/2 mile to the truck
So I got there 30 min after quitting time
Guys were still shooting
Well they are calling for a cold front to move in Fri afternoon
Droping the temps and bringing rain
Sat and Sunday more rain
Sunday night rain mixed with snow
Mon and Tue scattered showers .....SNOW SHOWERS !!
Sounds like the fun is about to start
