RE: team 3
Welcome guys, I hope this turns out well (the contest). I divided all the states... so that we would be on teams in different parts of the country.... randomly put on teams. We have to watch out for the Team Fowl Asassins. They kill a boat load of birds in a season..
Little about me, I live in southern Michigan, This is my third year hunting waterfowl, I think I love it so much because I suck at it [>:]... I do bow hunt white tail and do well in that, so I spend a lot of time trying to kill birds. I have a Irish Setter that I am training to hunt, she loves the water, points upland birds in the field, not a good retriever unless you are throwing a stick.. Owell she will get there. I hunt fields and water, I have two farms and an airport that I have permission to hunt, I have 2 canoes, 12' boat and a never been hunted Hybrid duck boat I built over the summer. I have 50+ field deeks, shells and around 24 full bodies. dozen floating geese and a couple dozen floating ducks. Any way... I will save some for another post. Keep up the posts and pic of your hunts, thats what will make this fun. Open invite to team members that may be in MI for a hunt, your welcome to hunt any time. Mark |
RE: team 3
Hi guys, nice to meet the team. I`m the Canadian part of the team.I`ve been waterfowling for close to 45yrs. Shot my first duck(Mallard) when I was 10 years old. Hunt mostly on grain fields for geese. Have access to both private and public land. I use a 12ga. 870 or a 10ga. Built a new duckboat this summer so I hope test that out soon also.
My season opened on the 1st Sept. for youth and Sandhill cranes.(couldn`t make it). Our regular season opens on the 8th and I hope to make it out then. Season ends at theend of November but no self respecting waterfowl will be left by then as it will be will be around -30 or so. So, best of luck to all team members and don`t forget about a name. RE: team 3
Hey everyone. I am from Illinois. I hunt over water, but mostly corn. I hunt public and private land and i am getting my feet wet with hunting the river this year. So hopefully all goes well. I hunt a lot it is all that i really like to do. I shoot everything with my benelli sbeII in 12 gauge. If there is anything ya wanna know just ask. And if your ever in my part of the country let me know and wee will get together.

RE: team 3
Man I suck at this,...... I had a flock of 14 come in, after sitting in the rain forever, Gave a couple honks, a quick flag, and here they came... they ended up skirting me to my right just in range, but on the right[:@], I thought they were going to fishhook and land behind me.. wrong, by the time I relized they had not landed 10 feet behind my head, they were 15 feet off to my left and 25 yrds in front of me[:@][:@]popped out of the blind pulled up and decided they were a little far out and never fired a shot. There is always tomorrow

RE: team 3
Ahhhhhh, got one on Mon. and two today. Mon. honker was in a field, flock came from the rear again, but got one overhead. Wed. AM hunt was great. I built a one man duck boat over the summer and this was its maden voyage for hunting. It was sweet, I had 6 flocks and one single come over, They did not decoy as well as the field hunting, but still was right on!! There was a good amount of fog rolling off the water, and the boat only being a foot tall I was hidden well. I set up on a sand bar on a good size lake, It is almost in the middle of the lake which is perfect..... I so wish I had brought my camera, I had a youngster swim in behind me and came up to about 10 feet away. He didnt mind me calling and flagging at all.. LOL just swam right in. I watched him for close to an hour before he swam away. If I was starving he would havE been in the freezer, but its not the hunt I wanted today. It was a cool hunt.
Next time I hit this spot I will have to make sure I take the camera. Someone pick the team name please, just pick one, we will change it if there is a problem... JUST PICK ONE... |
RE: team 3
I personally would like to have my idea of "Locked Wing Warriors"
|
RE: team 3
Thanks for picking a name. It is Locked Wing Warriors.

RE: team 3
Season is closed for a few weeks in my area. I will be hitting the opener for the upper lower on Oct. 4th with my son. It will be just a one day hunt with my dad and it should be cool because this will be the first time in maybe 22 years I will be able to hunt ducks with him. It will be his first with his grandson. All the boys got together for a Pheasent hunt last year.... but it will be the first for ducks and geese. I will have to make sure some Pic.'s get taken, the three of us may not have many of these days together, ya never know...
|
RE: team 3
I hope I didnt piZZ anyone off by picking the name. Last year our team could not make a decision and we never had one. If someone doesnt like it just say so and we can change it.
|
RE: team 3
Anyone here? If your hunting thats great...... Hello anyone home.....Knock knock.....

RE: team 3
Went on the anual pheasent hunt this weekend.. Had a great time.... first time out with my Setter, she did a great job, flushed or pointed 7 birds and recovered them on the first day, second day I got my first retrieve...... My son and I had a great time. The only thing that sucked was Sat. was our opener for duck and goose.... I will be out Mon. morning on the water, clear and warm.. so I am not sure how its going to pan out.
|
RE: team 3
I have been doing some scouting and have some flooded fields and timber lined up for my opener saturday the 25th. Hopefully i will have a few pictures and birds to add to the count. Seen a lot of teal and wood ducks in there, also a couple pintails.
|
RE: team 3

RE: team 3
Congrats on the ducks..... I went out for ducks last week and ended up not even shooting at one. Decoyed a flock of 30 geese though.. on water none the less!!! Only got one of them... did I ever tell you guys I suck at shooting?? I am hitting a field in the morning for more geese. calling for snow showers...
|
RE: team 3

RE: team 3 Locked Wing Warriors
Well Team, it looks like my season is over up here as a nasty storm blew. Winter is here with -9, 70k winds, and sleet. The season is officially over the end of November but it will be too cold for any waterfowl to be left. I did my best to try to bump up the score. Good luck on your waterfowl seasons, I`ll keep a watch on your scores;).
