PT....I had multiple birds in the area gobbling Saturday morning.....but I had 2 thunderstorms moving through and the best I could coax up was a fox.

Saturday afternoon I had SEVERAL gobblers working the woodlot behind me.....and called one out and into sight. he stood at the field edge about 60yds away in full strut.....gobbling his head off.....but would never commit. I have to think my lone hen decoy wasn't the right setup for HIM.

I'll stay at it, though.

I use a Half Strut jake deke, and 1 or 2 hens and if that doesnt get that tom to come in then something is wrong with that bird but youll eventualy get 1 so dont worry i think we got this in the bag

Yesterday we had 2 longbeards and a few jakes in the back "feild" and we saw about 30 turkeys with about8 decent birds down the road from us on a property that we have permission to hunt on so it's looking like a good season

We gave 'em heck this weekend.....but have nothing (but some cool footage) to show for it. I was behind the camera (this past weekend)....but I'll get back at them with the bow, now. I hope to get in a few hunts between now and Sunday.....then I'm outta here for a week with my wife to Mexico. I'll have the 1st week of May to get at them, too.

Good luck to you guys....

No luck in Kansasfor me, Dad killed a heck of a gobbler. It was cold and rainy (low 40's) the first two days and the birds just weren't talking. But Dad completed his grand slam so it was defiantly worth the trip.
