RE: Team 2
Well guys, I got my first turkey, but it was with the firestick, not the bow! I took the bow out first thing this morning, we got set up in a decent spot, and just before they came off the roost, another hunter tried setting up on the same birds, way too close I might add, and basically sent them off the roost away from where we were set up! Instead of coming off the roost towards the fields like they had been, they went parallel with the fields. We still stuck it out for a while, but with no luck.
So, we decided to run and gun em. That didn't work to well either, so we decided to head back to the truck. When we were about a half a block away, we heard a gobble, so we figured we give a few putts to see if we would get a response. We did. They came on a B line, and almost so fast that we didn't have time to set up! It's just a Jake, but it's my first turkey, so I'm happy. Nothing but the bow and toms from here on out.
Sorry about the front yard pictures. I forgot my camera.

Sweet Deal Vikes!
Dont be ashamed of the gun kill or the fact its a jake...be proud about it...Great Bird. Nothing like the first.
I may be in the same boat as you next year. All toms all bow. Ill likely kill one with the gun then all bow, as I did this year. My season is over, and a long one it was. I struck out on both out of state hunts, then killed a nice one the third day of season here in KY. Bow only for the next three weeks and had my opportunites. Even missed a jake on camera from 9 yards, embarassing, but it happens. Just one more gobbler to chase next year! Best of luck to anyone still hunting and congrats to Teejay!
Sorry I couldnt connect on a bird this year, with the bow anyway.

I'm not ashamed at all. Well, maybe a little ashamed of the pictures, but I have no problem using a gun to hunt. I am in no way a bow only guy. I like the added challenge, but a dead turkey is a dead turkey, and I'm proud of it!!
