A big congrats to you bloodcreek!!!!! Way to go!!! Sorry I did not put stats on my boys bird he was 24 pounder had a 11 1/4 beard and 1 1/4 inch spurs. That bird was actually his 7th bird. And he got it his first morning out at about 6:10 am. Me on the other hand I had a little bit of a workout with them birds. I got bad news and good news. Bad news is that I didnt get one with my bow - good news I got one on the last day of 2nd season here with my trusty ol gun. I worked hard to try to get one. Sorry guys I will try again 4th season!!!!

Thanks everyone I almost had a shot at another one back here in Indiana this morning. I called three in beside me to about 50 yards, they hung aroung for an hour gobbling there heads off. Two finally came in at 35 yards but i had a jake 10 yards in my face. I was in a natural ground blind and could not draw without getting caught []My son got his sixth bird down while i was on my trip. This was his first solo hunt for a bird without Dad 22#/ 10 1/" beard/ 1 1/8"/ 1 1/8" spurs. Im proud of him

Well, in the morning im taking my eight year old out for his official turkey hunt. He has passed his hunters safety course and is ready to go. Im going to leave it up to him how long he wants to stay out, dont want to push him to hard at his early age. got to get him to like being out there first

Good luck with your boy! I hope he gets one more than I hope I get one! I'm going back out to Abilene today for the weekend. Its where I went opening weekend when I was sick. The landowner tells me the birds are making a racket. I hope they keep it up and I can get something roosted tonight. If I don't get it done this weekend I have next weekend and thats it. I feel good about my chances out there. I had birds hang up because of my coughing. i'm nice and quiet now [8D].
